That's right, we're back at Aries Lounge for more of the madness you've come to expect from Dirge Factory. We'll be back at it May 4 with the usual low cover charge of $4 for members, $6 for guests. The party starts at 10pm and goes on until you stop dancing!
And stay tuned for news on the resurrection of Dirge Factory. N and I have a new lead to explore...
Come one, come all! You may now buy Cirque Macabre shirts in advance via the website! They're available in a figure flattering, fitted woman's style, as well as a heavy-weight regular cotton t-shirt format.
Buying now ensures you get a shirt - we've made limited quantities, and I expect we may sell out. If you can't make the show or forget to pick your shirt up, we'll ship it to you afterward. Also, buying online allows you to pay with credit card rather than cash. :) No PayPal account required!
I'm pleased to announce two additions to the show: Susan Z and Kambriel.
Kambriel ( http://www.kambriel.com ) is an award-winning seamstress whose works have graced the covers of magazines worldwide - including Gothic Beauty! Her work is innovative and romantic, and she is one of the few fabric artists that has a fully developed men's collection. Please visit her site for a glimpse of what she'll be offering at the show!
Susan Z ( http://www.indigolee.com ) is a multi-faceted artist. While she will be showing her amazing photography at Cirque Macabre, she is also talented at painting - both on canvas and on glass. Visit her site for more details!
Remember to bring extra cash to the show, to purchase from our amazing vendors and artists!
Look for the full-page ad for Cirque Macabre on page 14 of this month's Hatchet! You can find The Hatchet at establishments all over the triangle, or view this issue via PDF directly from their website:
I am one of the vendors that is honored to be invited to Cirque Macabre.
I am a vendor for Alchemy Gothic and Summit Collection (ytcsummit.com) as well as making a variety of jewelry and other sculptures.
You can see some of my work at www.algedonic.com .
If there are any items you would like to see at Cirque Macabre, please let me know. Space for vendors is limited, so I can only bring so many items to tittilate you all. :) I'll bring a sampling of interesting things from the catalogs, but I'd rather you tell me what you like so I can have it all handy on the night of the show.
I look forward to seeing everyone there, and please feel free to ask me questions about any of the items I carry.
Dirge Factory must regretfully announce that it looks like there will be NO FETISH PLAY at tomorrow night's event.
Due to legal circumstances beyond the control of Dirge Factory and Underground the back room at Dirge Factory will no longer be equipped with fetish gear and toys will no longer be allowed into the club. We are looking into the matter, but it does not look good for the future of fetish events at Underground. Fwtish dress is still okay as long as you keep everything covered. Nathan and I just found this out minutes ago and we apologize for the short notice.
So I am hereby declaring tomorrow night "THE BIG VANILLA PARTY!" Dirge Factory will still be open as a goth/industrial dance night starting at 8:00pm tomorrow with your usual DJs plus special guest Horace spinning dark trance, the usual drink specials, a REDUCED COVER charge of only $1 for 21+ and $2 for 18-20, plus we'll be serving vanilla ice cream! So please come out and enjoy the music, the atmosphere, ice cream, and the company of the many friends you have made at Dirge Factory.
I will pass on any more news as I get it.
***We will also be raffling off a pair of tickets to Cirque Macabre, so bring a few extra dollars for that!***
Cirque Macabre ( http://www.CirqueMacabre.com ) is a gothic-industrial festival which will be held on Saturday, March 17th at Kings in downtown Raleigh.
As my Mom would yell when I was a kid, to get us downstairs for dinner... COME AND GET IT!!! ;) Tickets are $15 in advance, $18 at the door.
I highly suggest purchasing tickets in advance for the show. Besides the cost savings, one of the DJs (djsteve of the Fallout Shelter) has previously sold out this venue on his own. Plus, you'll get in to the pre-party the night before (Friday, March 16th) at Kulture in downtown Raleigh for cheap - entrance is free for ticket-holders, and $3 for everyone else to join the fun.
We are pleased to announce the debut of The Professional Burlesque Society's 2007/2008 Rhinestone pages! This full-color directory lists both burlesque performers (soloists and troupes) and vendors who offer essential goods every burlesque queen (or king!) needs.
We are now collecting information from vendors and performers who wish to be listed in this directory. You do not have to be a member of the Professional Burlesque Society to be listed but member listings are highlighted.
Member or not, being listed is free! Please visit www.BurlesqueSociety.org and click on "The Burlesque Directory" to enter your information. Want to spice up your listing? Add a photograph for only $10 ($15 for non-members). Advertising space (1/4-, 1/2- and full-page ads) is also available for a reasonable fee.
The Professional Burlesque Society appreciates the time and effort each of you has put into their craft and the Burlesque world at large. We look forward to assisting you in making the connections that will help you all improve your craft.
They released a new album in October - Bleed the Grey Sky Black, through by Metropolis Records - which is Bella Morte's greatest work to date. The CD contains the MySpace hits "On the Edge" and "Ghost Land", as well as the much sought after cover of "Earth Angel" (ee! I love when they cover that song!). I'm hoping we'll get to hear some of this at the show!
Bella Morte is more than great music, though - they've just got amazing stage presence.
The Cirque Macabre lineup for 3/17/07 at King's Barcade in Raleigh, NC currently is: Bands: Bella Morte, Anders Manga, In Tenebris, and White Widow DJs: DJ Spider, DJ Stowy, and djsteve Performance: House of DeVille, Dai Andrews Vendors: Eclectic Circle, Algedonic Arts Artwork by crept
djsteve of Fallout Shelter fame will be spinning at Cirque Macabre! djsteve, a longtime supporter of the gothic/alternative community in the triangle area, will be temporarily coming out of retirement to play Cirque Macabre ( http://www.CirqueMacabre.com ) on March 17th at Kings Barcade! An impressive DJ with classic goth/industrial tastes, djsteve made a name for himself through his legendary Fallout Shelter days. Come see a master in action!
I'm pleased to announce House of DeVille has been added to the Cirque Macabre lineup!
Lilith DeVille of House of DeVille has been working and performing for night clubs and special events for over 6 years. Events have included Purgatory, Fantasm, Skin Two pre-purvy party, and more. Lilith's stage work is an amalgamation of Weimar era cabaret, Grand Guignol, and modern avant guarde performance art. He also works very closely with the band Anders Manga and can be seen in their videos Shiver and Beautiful.
