I know usually stillness, challenges etc are strictly for icons but I thought for this challenge we'd do something a little different.
Entries close: 14 December, '05

Theme I: A movie poster no bigger than 197x275

It can have promo shots for the movie, scenes from the movie, movie quotes but it must have on the poster:
• the movie title: Cruel Intentions
• the key characters names: Sarah Michelle Gellar, Reese Witherspoon & Ryan Phillippe. (if you want to add more, that's fine but they have to be in smaller text)
Be creative, there are no limitations besides text brushes and animation of course.
may only submit 1 poster

Theme II: Movie Poster Icons (a tad image heavy so just wait because it will load)
Just incase posters aren't peoples thing but I'd rather everyone have a go at making a poster.

I've pulled together some images of numerous Cruel Intentions posters
Rules:
• NO blending
• Must have a line from the movie in it, not a whole line, just as long as it's 3 words in a row.
• Because of the rule about you may not use any text brushes or any other text in the icon other than that quote.
• Just to state the obviously, this is a 'stillness' community so no animations.
• Other than the rules above you can let your imagination run wild! :)

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the capacity limited that livejournal has set I've had to do a 'continued..' which to some will seem like a totally different poll but PLEASE, ONLY VOTE FOR 3 ICONS meaning you could have 2 favs from 1-15 and one 15-20 or the other way around but please don't see it as you have to vote for 3 for each poll please.

ci_stillness CHALLENGE #5

To mix it up we're going to do something different this week. I've found photographs from photo shoots of all the key characters. Under the cut are the photos, just click on them to get the full sized photograph. There are two of Reese & Sarah because I guess I saw both pictures of both women to be a challenge for the challenge... (yes, I'm aware that sounds weird) and I googled Ryan for atleast half an hour and I couldn't find anything decent or of that greater quality. I found a really trippy weird one somewhere so I just chose it + it'll make for some interesting icons....

specifics:
• You can submit as many icons as you like but you cannot use the same icon twice.
• You may use text but don't let it consume the graphic, the photos have to be the main feature of the icon.
• Obviously, no blending is allowed.
• Black & White, colour, whatever you feel like this round.
• If by some freak chance you've made icons out of any of these photos before, please don't use those, make fresh ones.

Also, we're going to do the voting a little differently this time because I think it's about time that I participate and if I happen to win something I'd like to not be accused of cheating because all results are hidden at the moment.

cherrychalk suggested a challenge that I like so for challenge #4 we are going to go with that. :) Thanks Cherry.

Challenge #4:
DUE DATE: Saturday, November 5th.
• I am going to give you 2 quotes from the movie.
• you have to make icons (up to 4) that goes with that particular quote.
• you are not limited to the scene or person who said the line. As long as the image goes with the line then that's perfect.
• you are not allowed to use both quotes in the 1 icon.
• if you make more than 1 icon, you have to have a mixture of quotes, all your icons cannot be of the same quote.
• You ARE allowed to blend this time, I think it would be interesting to see how someone would blend 1 quote.
• text brushes are excluded from this challenge.

This challenge is the Black & White challenge, as suggested by one of our members in the last poll.

#2 - soundtrack challenge.

This challenge, the Soundtrack challenge, gives you the freedom to choose your own screencaps. However, there are a few rules for icon submissions for challenge #2 and are as follows:

» Soundtrack lyrics must be added into your icon. They must be atleast 3 consecutive words and atleast 3 of those consecutive words must be readable. If you choose to add more than 3 consecutive words they don't have to be readable but they must still be lyrics from the soundtrack, meaning no pre-made text brushes.

» If you choose to submit multiple icons you cannot use lyrics from a particular song in more than 1 icon. Say you submit 4 icons, you must choose 4 different lyrics from 4 different songs.

» All submissions are due September 23rd (2 weeks seems to attract more participants and life can get busy at times)

» As far as how many icons you can submit... each member may submit up to 4 icons and the soundtrack lyrics can be found here: Cruel Intentions sountrack lyrics.

» Cruel Intentions screencapscan be found here if you need some.

Only 4 out of the 14 members of ci_stillness have entered the first ever challenge which is a bit disappointing. Therefore, I've extended the challenge until September 9 in hopes that we get more submission.

If you've already submitted but only submitted less than the four icons that you're allowed and want to submit more with this extra time, please feel free to. :) Lack of inspiration can be a bitch at times. And if you have any friends that you think might want to join this community that would be great because I really want to make something great out of this community.

This first challenge won't close until the 2nd of September. Although I do have 10 members, I'd like to keep this one open until then in hopes that I get more members and more entries in the first challenge of the community. Lets try and get every member to submit atleast 1 entry for this very first challenge, please. :D

Rules:
» This first challenge is going to be an easy one. Each icon must depict an emotion through your choice of gradients, textures, words (sad, happy, love etc)...
» You may enter up to four icons. No blending & only one icon per cap.
» This weeks mod's choice will be the default icon for the community therefore if for some reason you wouldn't like one of your icons to be the default icon for this community please say so in your submission.
