Join us again for a Comic Con tradition. Just a few blocks away from the convention center at Horton Plaza San Diego's Rocky Horror Picture Show cast, Crazed Imaginations will be strutting their fishnet stuff for your pleasure. Scream along with us as we follow the story of Janet Weiss and Brad Majors, just your typical boy meets girl meets transvestites and aliens. Tickets are $10, and will soon be available for preorder through the Lyceum Theater or save the fees just pick 'em up at the theater when you get into town.

We'll be opening the lobby around 11pm, and playing some games before it all starts. Doors will open before midnight where you'll be entertained by our good friends of the comedy show The House before we get the show started. Participate in the lingerie/costume contest for fabulous prizes* or just show up and enjoy fishnets and sequins and of course, underwear!

*prizes not nearly as fabulous as Masquerade, but at least you can watch this contest in person!

July 31st is a Fifth Friday theme night!
Whenever our show falls on the fifth Friday, we let our audience make suggestions as to what our theme is that night!
Most recently was our Carnival night. :] In the past we've done 80's cartoon night, 50's night, comic book night, etc.

You can Submit your suggestions on our forums at our website, or just reply here. Once we have a list, we'll put up a poll so you can vote.

Be creative! We'd love to hear what you have to say!

I apologize that it has taken a while to post this in the CI forums, but as you can imagine, life has been a bit crazy for us.

Last Friday evening, our beloved cast member Kevin Hatch, aka Buffy, lost his battle with Lymphoma. We are working to find ways to remember him through Rocky, and I am sure there will be a time that we will ask you to support a charity in his honor, but for now, there will be a lot of hugging at the show.

Kevin understood that we would need to grieve his passing, but he asked that we spend some of our time celebrating his life, and finding beauty in the day we are given.

We would like to thank all of our friends for their love and support in this time.

Theme shows! [26 Mar 2009|12:16pm]

lizetta
Sometimes, we have theme nights that we all put a lot of work into, we tell you about them and encourage you to dress up with us. Like Cult Classics Night, Disney themes, 18th Century Poets (ok, we haven't done that, but we could!)

Sometimes, the theme just happens during the course of the show. Like "give Steve a wedgie" or "say your lines in a funny accent" nights. You might not even notice when we do these things, but the amuse the hell out of us.

And sometimes, we come up with a relatively simple idea that we just all latch on to and run with. Like eyepatch night.

Well, this week, since a fair number of our performers were already going to qualify for this, we've decided it's facial hair night. Even those of us without it will be finding a way to don some during our performance.

You should do it too!

I'm so excited about the show tonight! I haven't been able to perform lately because of some health concerns, but last week I pulled off Columbia without trouble. Tonight I'm stepping back into my Janet heels for the first time in MONTHS! And to make this more special (cause it's my birthday Monday!), my boyfriend and former cast member is putting on fishnets for the first time in a very long time to join me as Brad. Go [info]bangoperator!

This should be a fun show ;-)

Rocky Horror on Friday the 13th! [07 Feb 2009|07:14pm]

crazeddrscott

You might think it a daunting task to try and make this month's Lingerie Night, plus this month's Friday the 13th show, and the Valentine's Day show as well.  Well, guess what, they are all the same night!  That's right,  Friday, February 13 is not only Friday the 13th, but the day before Valentine's Day, so that would make it our annual Valentine's weekend show, and it is also our monthly Lingerie Night!  I don't think we could pack anything more into one show.  But we can.  We will also have some special preshow entertainment that night as well.

Now, how much would you pay for so much fun packed into one evening?  $50? $30? $19.95?  Guess again.  Tickets are only $9!!  That's less than going to a normal movie, and you get special preshow entertainment, a Lingerie Contest and a performance of the Rocky Horror Picture Show!

Wait, did you say Lingerie Contest?  You heard me correctly.  Every 2nd Friday of the month we have a Lingerie Contest.  Every week you see us in our underwear, now it is time we see you in yours.  Dress in your finest unmentionables (keep it street legal, of course, and you must be 18 years of age or older), and you could possibly win fabulous prizes.

Make sure you get there early, as our Lingerie Nights, Friday the 13th's and Valentine's shows are usually our most heavily attended, and since it is all in one night, this could rival Halloween as our biggest night of the year.  Our preshow usually starts at midnight, so you will want to be in by then.

And don't forget, we perform every Friday at midnight at the historic La Paloma Theatre in Encinitas.  Check our website, www.crazedimaginations.net, for any and all information pertaining to San Diego's only Rocky Horror Picture Show!

Also, don't forget to join us on Myspace and Facebook.

Hooray for Boobies! [03 Jan 2009|01:23pm]

lizetta
Everyone loves boobies! Unfortunately, hundreds of thousands of beautiful mammaries, and all too frequently the lovely women who hoist them, are lost to a demon called cancer.

Crazed Imaginations, your local Rocky Horror Picture Show cast, is teaming up with Little Mac Management to try to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness.

This Friday, January 9th, will be a special Rocky Horror lingerie night; a "Hooray For Boobies" fund raising show. A percentage of the ticket sales, and 100% of the door donations, will go to support Awareness. There will also be some knocker-related auctions (staying within the laws of Encinitas, of course!), and you can be sure there will be plenty of cleavage that night. (if you've been to our show, you know we have lots of cleavage to go around) You'll also be treated to a few songs from San Diego's own Jazz and Blues sultry crooner Roxy Blue

Come join us that night. And ladies, don't forget to feel yourself up at least once a month, it could save your life!

January has a fifth Friday!

On the few months that give us this extra show, we like to do a special cast, where we dress up and perform as characters other than the typical ones. In the last few years, we've done things like Comic Book characters, 70's night, SNL, to name a few.

Since we love our audience, we like to let you pick our theme. Let us know what you want to see us pull off.

Guidelines:
It has to be something that we can pull off by costuming. Something like a Buffy the Vampire slayer cast could be fun, but tough to tell the difference between characters just by the outfits we wear. Also, things that don't require advanced special effects to create the look. We like a challenge, but within reason. Lastly, we have to able to do it in street legal costumes. As much as we appreciate that you'd like to see us perform naked, its really not going to work...

So comment with your suggestions here or on our web page. We'll take our favorite suggestions and make a poll for you to vote on soon!

A special note to our friends-

Tickets for the Halloween midnight show will go on sale when the 9pm tickets do, about 8:30. If you buy tickets to both, you will be allowed to stay in the theater in between shows and get the best seats. Once the 9pm show is over, we won't be able to let you back in if you leave, but it probably won't be that long in between shows anyway.

MTV's Rocky Horror Doing the 'Time Warp' Again

For devoted cult movie fans, there is some hallowed ground where remake-minded producers probably shouldn't tread. MTV and 20th Century Fox best step softly as they move toward a reported remake of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

According to Variety, BermanBraun and Fox Television Studios are joining MTV to remake the king of the midnight screenings. The producers will use the original screenplay by Jim Sharman and Richard O'Brien. The new musical could also include music not featured in the original '70s production.

There's no word as to casting yet, allowing the original film's crazed, costumed fans to debate who should take on the iconic rolls of Dr. Frank N. Furter and company.

Uhm... MTV what the fuck? Comments? I'm completely against this. And what do they mean by "costumed fans to debate who should take on the iconic rolls of..." MTV, if this means reality show, I'm going to shoot someone.

Make us dance like your little monkeys!

We had some great ideas last times, so let's keep those creative juices flowing.

Suggest them soon, the poll will be up before you know it!

The Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Lyceum for the 3rd consecutive year!

Crazed Imaginations, San Diego’s Rocky Horror Picture Show, is coming to the Lyceum theatre on Thursday, July 24 at 11pm; the first night of Comic Con! Since Crazed Imaginations has performed The Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Lyceum Theatre the last two years to great success, they have decided to keep the tradition alive. What better way to start off Comic Con than to get your best fishnets on and dust off your high heels to embark on the true Cult Classic Experience?

Whether this is your 1st time or 1000th, there is no experience like seeing The Rocky Horror Picture Show in a theatre with a live cast performing along with the movie. Embark with Brad Majors and Janet Weiss as they leave the friendly confines of Denton, Ohio to the pure decadence of Dr. Frank-N-Furter and his band of Transylvanians. It is 50’s wholesomeness meets 70’s decadence. So come on down to the Lyceum Theatre, bring your “Virgins”, get your prop bag and give yourself to the Lips!

The Rocky Horror Picture Show first opened in 1975 to little fanfare. It quickly became popular through midnight showings and gained instant cult status. Gradually, people started shouting callbacks at the screen, throwing various props, dressing up as the characters in the film, and even getting up on stage and acting along with the movie. The Rocky Horror experience was born. Crazed Imaginations has been performing The Rocky Horror Picture Show at various theatres across San Diego for over 20 years. The Rocky Horror Picture Show can currently be seen every Friday night at the Historic La Paloma Theatre in Encinitas, featuring the cast of Crazed Imaginations.

What: The Rocky Horror Picture Show
Where: The Lyceum Theatre
When: Thursday, July 24 @ 11 pm

Visit us at Crazed Imaginations.net for more information on this and other upcoming shows.
