The Pros Slash Proliferation Challenge
I've been chatting with people, trying to figure out ways in which to encourage and grow more gorgeous Pros Slash in our f-lists. With that goal in mind, we thought we'd try a new challenge!

The Pros Slash Proliferation Challenge:

For the next seven days, post *something* slashy about our lads at your journal.

It can be anything - a pic, a quote, a thought, a novella... They don't have to be seven consecutive days - because we know what real life is like - although the closer, the better. Of course if you feel like continuing once your seven days are up then it's all the more slash and happiness! Please leave at least part of the slash visible if you need to use a cut - we want people to see our Pros Proliferation.

At the bottom of your posts, please copy and paste this challenge request and link back so that more people can see it and take part. Let's spread the Pros slash goodness as far as we can!

To link back, use this code (without the asterisks)

This is a lovely idea, Paris! I've just got to think of something now.........(not that it's an effort).

I was thinking about how much I wanted *more*! It occurred to me that the only thing you can really change is yourself, so I thought, I'm going to VOW to post something that's slashy and Pros every day, for a week. Then it snowballed into this challenge. I just hope that it works!

I've been enjoying reading the responses but just realised that I'm only seeing contributions from my own Flist.

Could you set up something so that everyone who has posted could sign in here, so to speak, so nothing gets missed?

Yes, I realized after a couple of days that I was only seeing my friend-list's contributions too, and had missed several brilliant posts that other people talked about! I did notice that [info]kiwisue had a similar idea and mentioned several people who were taking part at her lj - I found that very useful. :)

When we were chatting about it, we didn't really think of a sign up post, because the idea was to have something very easily done to encourage more people to take part - no pressure to make posts or not, more spontaneous. I think subconsciously the worry was that making it a formal challenge and having a sign-in might put people off doing it in the first place.

By the same token we haven't done an "official" links post - weren't sure if everyone would want to be linked, and so forth... It's also been casual enough that not everyone has "finished" yet - which was another purposeful decision, no deadline, no stress - but maybe there could be a links post in a week or so?

Despite the drawbacks and inconvenience, at least there's been one happy result with a lot of people making and adding new "friends" to their lists!

Yes, I realised early on that there were some posts I was missing! And I acquired a couple of new friends through going looking for other contributions. [info]byslantedlight said she didn't mind me looking at her flist which picked up most of them, I think, that weren't already appearing on my flist and, like Paris, I picked up clues from other journals. There are certain names which crop up regularly on Pros challenges and who I have learnt to keep an eye out for!
Maybe people who went to the trouble to make contributions would be prepared for someone to make a list of contributions somewhere - maybe on your journal, Paris, as you came up with the original idea. That way people could always go back and catch up with any they missed!
A very enjoyable challenge, anyway, thanks for coming up with the idea!
