AboutEcce deus fortior me, qui veniens dominabitur mihi.
"Behold a god stronger than I, who coming shall rule over me."
In an underground city, civilization stands still. The streets are silent, the buildings are abandoned. But sometimes, if you stand at the waterfall near the entrance, you can hear the mournful strains of an ancient organ prelude. If you follow the music, you might find yourself in the nave of a grey stone cathedral. If you enter, you will find a place abandoned by time, gloomy phosphorus light shining through stained glass. The pews are dusty, the choirbooks faded and crumbling. But the altar shines in gold and is illuminated, and if you dare to approach you will soon find the Lord of our Church bound and naked, on the table and waiting for the High Priest to begin his customary rites.
Do not be afraid. The sacrifices here are pleasant, particularly for the parishoners. Our Lord God Elric offers himself up for all of our sins, as well as his own, and he will always come when the High Priest calls service to order. Welcome, all, to the Church of Elric.

February 2007: Important Server Location Update: find out how to connect to our group here. A web-based proxy client, for those trying to connect to the CoE away from home, can be found here (although, a word to the wise: it's slow and prone to disconnects, so only attempt when feeling exceptionally patient). A more exclusive web-based proxy link can be found here, but you will need to be a community member in order to see this post.
August 2007: Important update in CoE rules here. From now on, all contributions to this community must be friends locked, or will be subject to deletion. Also, an age rule will be instituted: all community members must be able to verify, upon request, that they are over the age of 18. At this time verification will consist of having your date of birth listed in your LJ info page. Optionally, people will be allowed to certify that they are over the age of 18 in the above linked post. I know this is a PITA, but these new policies exist for the protection of the members and moderators of this comm. Thanks for understanding.
June 2009: The Church's City-State Grows Apace!

orion117, Dorkmistress of the Keys, very kindly (and awesomely) has created a You Tube scroll which chronicles the city's illustrious growth. Observe in awe:
