Bush, worst thing for the economy since Carter

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Chart of the Day, a web site which has various financial charts, had an interesting one today. It's the Dow Jones Industrial Average compared to the price of gold. Although the Dow reached a record high in the summer of last year, in US Dollars, when you try to "buy the Dow" using gold, a totally different picture emerges.

When priced in gold, the Dow reached its apex in 2000 and has been sliding ever since.

2000... Let's see... that was the year Bush was elected! Coincidence?  I think not.

Even Reaganomics was better for the economy than Bushwhackonomics.

The, Mother Fucking, Fall.

Holy penis, why the hell didn't anybody tell me this movie came out in fucking May!?!?!
;_; It's still playing in NY actually. Hmm..

Coincidentally, DVD release is in 53 days. HHhhmmmm....

Ah - casual Friday. The fun time where I get to wear jeans to work. Today I've opted for a very dark blue pair with a v neck t shirt with some russian on the back, finishing up with my white skater shoes. Cute that.

It's worth note that there's a space sharing on the seabus unlike most others. It is quite full today so I don't have a seat on either side of me. The girl to my left dislikes me as she has her leg crossed against me. The girl to my right is asleep. Doesn't matter much though - both skinny bitches. The one has a Louis bag. I wonder how deep she's sleeping? My wife could use one... Just kidding.

The Dark Knight

Gods, what a sucky movie. It sucked worse than anything has ever sucked before.

Bale? Sucked.

Oldman? Sucked.

Ledger??? Suck suck suck suck suck... he probably offed himself to totally get away from the suckage, lemme tell you.

2 1/2 hours of total, complete donkey ball suck. It sucked so bad we need a new word for 'suck' to describe it.

hey.... WhY So SERiouS?

HAHAHAHHAHHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAH

Weird Al

If Mr. Yankovic and his musical cohorts ever gives up parody work, I think they'd find good work as a CAKE cover band.

And yes, the animation is by John Kricfalusi of Ren and Stimpy fame, so it may not be to everyone's liking.

Oh Hell...

Wow...I had my surgery on Mar 27th.  Just now I took my first drink of alcohol.  Technically, Rose's Mojito Mix with Bacardi Vanilla Rum and Ron Rico white rum.  Maybe four ounces at best.

I'm totally lit up after about one-third of the drink.   I'm totally buzzed.  The whole thing...everything looks detached...I've only felt this once or twice ever since alcohol had little effect on me pre=surg.

This is kinda cool, but I'll probably never be able to really drink in public again as I couldn't drive right now if I had to...well, I could, but getting pulled over would be a bad thing.

Mark this one up to science experiment #1 with alcohol.

I wonder if I'll be able to get hard either?  Not that I have any need, but justy an interesting question.

One more Mac question for my weekend workshop

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
What about that legacy DOS program I still like to use? Is there a way to run DOS programs on the Mac OS, or would I have to use a parallel Windoze OS?

Ooo!

The Playstation Network now carries movies and TV shows!

I don't know how much they cost yet, but I'm quite excited.

(I also thought immediately of [info]eeyorerin when I saw that they launched with both Deadliest Catch and Mythbusters in their featured television shows lineup.)

It looks like I might have to consider upgrading the hard disk in mine more seriously.

Hurly Burly

Wow. DId that movie have *any* redeeming features or positive qualities at all? Geez. There was a point where we checked the time and saw there were five minutes left and I seriously considered pressing stop because that felt like too much more to endure.

So it really wasn't ours to begin with

I can fix it. I've done it before.

"Yeah, Matt. Well, the trucks are still down. Some of the parts aren't fitting, so they're on order. The owner finally threw up his hands and said he'd throw another spare truck down for us."

"Ah, that only took two fucking months."

"Yeah, I was really looking forward to working tonight."

"Oh well, I'll get some more movies lined up. Don't get too bored tonight."

By the way, parts ordered? It's a CAT engine. Everything out here uses CAT parts! Give me half an hour, I'll buy one for ya! So, what am I gonna do tonight?

Yeah. Cooking. Oh, and by the way, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along is fun. Last episode Sunday. Heh.

And finally, I watched all of Californication on demand last night. It hits all the emotional notes that the short-lived Dr. Vegas wanted to hit, so it's like the 2.0 success version. And it's good stuff. And I'm about out of things to watch. Kinda. I'll find more, I'm sure of it. But it's getting to the point that I'd better work 5 days next week or I'm starting to get into dangerous financial territory.

Not so much worried as annoyed.

AWWWWWWWW
