Buggerations
It's 0029 (BST), and I am lying here, typing this and I am in agony.  I have taken my dose of morphine that I allow myself a day (I can have 4), and am wondering whether I should take some more.

I am just sick of being in 3 different types of pain.  I know a lot of you are suffering worse than I am, but I am not the strongest of people, and I am letting external issues interfere with "me" space.

And my Darling Hubbsta is away for 6 whole days.  The bed feels so empty without him.

I just want the pain to go.

Sorry to be so pathetic, but I needed to get it out and onto "paper" so to speak.

Your pain is as real as anyone else's. And sometimes it's really hard to live with chronic pain.

I hope you feel better soon.

If you're in pain, then take your meds. That's what they are there for - use them in times like this.

I was writing my father recently about this, and that weird guilt/shame/pride mix that comes around taking "extra" meds or "more" (Even if that's not really true...) and he said, "I hate medication. I hate taking it. It makes me feel weak and like half a man. But I hate the pain more." - and in the end that's exactly it.
Take your meds, that's what they are there for, and do not berate yourself for being weak or "less strong" than anyone else. Your pain is yours, your treatment is yours, it cannot be compared to anyone else.

Please do treat your pain. When your pain is not fully treated, it interferes with your ability to function and your quality of life. If you are cutting back on your meds from the prescribed level, you are only doing yourself more damage.

If you need more than prescribed, you need to talk to your doctor about it, but in neither case should you simply suffer.

Poor you, it must be awful. I know that it is bad enough with 2 types of pain let alone 3 :(

I am of the theory that if the pain is really bad, that it is better to take something for it because you can only reduce the painkillers once you have a handle on the pain. If that makes sense.

Either way, the whole situation sucks ass, I wish that I could help :(

Why don't you "allow yourself" as much pain relief as you "can have?" I presume it's your doctor who said you could have 4 doses per day? If the pain meds don't help when you take them, you should ask about trying a different kind of meds (or maybe non-medical approaches like PT or acupuncture.) But if the meds help, and the doctors prescribe enough, but you don't take them...that's a different kind of problem.

I'm scared of taking that much I suppose. I was on 12 hour MST and ended up zombie like and don't want to be like that again :( But then this is for different pain and I won't be on it long term. I keep forgetting to give myself a break and that taking the meds won't make me a more crap person.
