| The Potter's Clay |
[February 1st @ 10:17pm] |
|
hey yall, you know, as I was doing my quiet time like 1 hour ago, it was amazing and i thought i could share it with yall :)
you see i've been feeling rather discouraged as of late, cuz of some mishaps and friendship problems. and tonight, i gave all my problems to God. i figured God has a solution, and i know for sure He has! can i hear an Amen! :D it was amazing. i re-dedicated my life to God in my little room. and i just cried and man.. i flipped open the bible and bam! Jeremiah 18 stuck out of the page. like it was BOLDED or something. i was like.. O_O cool man lets read it~ so Jeremiah 18.
it speaks of the potter's clay. and it really hit me cuz thats the way that God will use us. we've got to let Him mould us. and every situation that we go through, its a trial. its a trial that God has put us through, like the fire and the moulding of the clay. its only through the fire, the scorching heat, that the masterpiece can be made. and relatively, God has to put us through trials, to mature us :) someone shout HALLELUJAH!
so next time you're feeling like you can't handle the stress, be it friendships or stress, or well, whatever, know that God is moulding you, making you perfect, readying you for the day you get to heaven.
GBU PPL! feel free to add me~

Hi all.
I'm Laura from Finland. I'm glad i found some people like me from this website.. Ofcourse in here Finland we have many "undergound" stylish christians but somehow I wanted to get to know some of you from other lands.. I might write some entries in english to my own journal but we'll see (And you're going to notice I'm not so good in englih;). My life's been a little messy for a while. There is so dark and cold nowadays, about -20 degrees, it's freezing. Most of people are so depressed. I've been too since God healed. But now.. I feel like i'm empty inside. I need some more. I've been thinking to travel to some other land. Studying maybe? I'd like to find some school for christians I can go.. I want to see so much more in this lifetime. I can just pray for that. Maybe God will lead me to somewhere other-land perhaps. . Huh.. Today was nice. I bought some treasures from a local secondhand-shop. I like all bohemian stuff, I like to wear a little bit hippie and free. I found couple of cute scarfs, nice bohemian hippie-pants, few jewels, i also found that oriental lamp. I was so excited. ^^ I also like arts, photographing, music and dancing.. That's me.^^ . Time is just running out.. Maybe now I'm going to get some sleep.. I hope.

| Chain Reaction This Sunday 1/4 |
[December 30th @ 11:22pm] |
If you're in So Cal, come out to Chain Reaction in Anaheim this Sunday night for some hardcore fun. ALLorNOTHING is the band I'm spreading the word for. They're good friends of mine from good ol' Hollister, CA. They have recently been signed to Ethos Records out of Sacramento and played for a good-sized crowd at Tomfest up in WA this past summer with a great response from first time listeners. They play a solid set and bring tons of energy to get you movin'. Here's a link to their myspace if you want a little sample before you venture out. Tell all your friends; it's gonna be siiick. Also playing is LionHeart and Maya Over Eyes with some more TBA. $10 at the door; show starts at 7 [don't be late!]

I think I might have more feelings for my best guy friend, but I'm not sure and I get jealous when he doesn't hang out with me while he's in town and he is hanging out with other people. He's a marine so he isn't in town often and I know he would date me if I asked him, but I'm afraid to be in a real relationship right now. The last few relationships I've had I knew would end and didn't matter, but I don't know if this one would, I could actually love him. In a shallow light I've always convinced myself I couldn't care about him b/c I don't find him attractive, but I wonder if that's a lie I tell myself to keep from caring. I don't want to be in a relationship if it's not where God wants me to be, but I don't know how to tell. how do you know if you care or if you just are lonely and reach out to the one who cares

| ~All I Want for Christmas is to Free Sudanese Slaves~ |
[December 12th @ 7:27pm] |
(This message is for all believers in unity of the faith. X-Posted Elsewhere)
It's that time of the year!
We go Christmas shopping. We go to parties and drink spiked egg nog (if we're old enough). We see our families. We celebrate and remember Jesus Christ's birth in Christmas Eve services around the world! It's debatably the happiest of time of year.
This jubilee is not shared by everyone. There are the lonely (including internationals) without families that we need to bring to our home celebrations; there are soldiers serving around the world that we need to support; and yes, there are slaves.

I need some major prayer. I am in the process of applying for Youth With A Mission. I have no money what so ever and really need to depend on God. I have to eventually get around 6k for schooling/mission trip. I am worried that I won't be able to reach that and it scares me. I have to do this. If you would, please keep me in your prayers. I would appreciate it very much. If you would like to donate even a dollar, I would be so blessed. I have set up a paypal account if you would like to help me out. Thank you so much!

For the past few months, I've found myself drifting further and further away from God for various reasons. Sure I noticed it happening, but I wasn't really sure what to do about it so I just let it happen. Then comes Cornerstone Festival. Through this past week I could really feel myself getting back on track with God. There are hundreds of great bands that sing for God, speakers that speak for God, and you're surrounded by great people of all different subcultures. But it's now that Cornerstone 2008 has come to an end that the real challenge comes. It's easy to feel close to God and to speak the word when you're surrounded by other Christians, but it's when you get back into the real world that you really need to make it count. That's where you guys come in. I really don't want to slip back to where I was before Cornerstone. I know that mostly this lies in my hands and what I chose to do, but I really would appreciate prayer from all of you. Prayer that I can stay on track and keep close to Him. It would mean a lot to me.
Thanks in advance and God bless.

Hey there everyone!
I was just curious as to whether anyone was attending Cornerstone Festival in Bushnell this year? It's always nice meeting new people :)
Because it's the twenty-fifth anniversary they're having a big shindig where they're shutting down all of the stages besides mainstage on the fourth of July. They're going to have a huge worship service and fireworks and everything. I'm sooo excited!!

| Christian podcast |
[June 10th @ 11:17am] |
Hi there! I've been a member of this community for a while and I just wanted to share something with you all that I thought might interest you.
I am a part of a ministry called GodlyGals (you can also find us at godly_gals) that focuses on equipping believers, providing a place for fellowship, and encouraging one another in our walks with Christ. It has been a phenomenal five years and God had blessed the ministry so much. Our growth lately has been such an encouragement and I look forward to the future as we move forward to where the Lord would have us go.
We have recently ventured into podcasting and it's been so great. We get to communicate with members of our community live, as well as people who just happen to drop in. We've met so many great people that way. It's really been amazing. In our podcast we talk about a variety of topics regarding the Christian faith. I really just wanted to let this community know about it so that you could stop by for one of our live shows or listen to it later (at www.godlygals.com/blog) if you can't make it to the live show. The wider our audience, the better the show.
Feel free to share this with your friends! Our next podcast will be:

Beloved - Derek Webb |
] |
Today in church, an amazing woman named Susan came forward during an altar call. She said (and it is not common to talk to the pastor during our altar calls, at least not while he's giving the call) that she had an urgent prayer request, and our wonderful pastor let her take the floor.
She said that she recieved a call on her cell phone from a relative, whose other relative was a 17 year old girl. The girl is pregnant, and her parents are forcing her to have an abortion this Friday (9th May). Susan asked us to pray for this girl, and for her parents, to prevent this from happening.
I don't know this girl, or her family, but I felt like God had Susan find out about this situation in my church, during this service, for a reason. What better way to reach a multitude of Christians than to go up and stand in front of them when they are worshiping?
So I'm asking you, another multitude of Christians, to pray for this girl and her unborn child. Pray also for her parents, that their hearts would be changed, or that God would forcibly prevent this murder from taking place.
Thanks.
(psalm 139:13-19 seems appropriate in this context)

For those who may be interested:
I may or may not have told you about some of the "ambient" music I've been creating for a while and that I have had plans of making it available online for purchase. Well, I checked today and the album is live. It totals 4 songs and is over an hour and 40 minutes long. It can be purchased online from either iTunes, eMusic, or Amazon.com.
On iTunes, it can be found by either clicking the link below or by searching for Adronus in the iTunes store. http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=276381890&s=143441
On Amazon, it can be found by clicking the link below or by searching for Adronus on Amazon.com. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00162EDOK/ref=dm_dp_adp?ie=UTF8&qid=1208847062&sr=8-1
On eMusic, it can be found by clicking the link below or by searching for Adronus on eMusic.com. http://www.emusic.com/album/Adronus-Destroia-MP3-Download/11182798.html
It's not hardcore, or any kind of core for that matter, but I made it. There's one heavy song on the album, and the rest is pretty much this long, drawn-out ambient sort of stuff. Just thought I'd let everyone know.
Peace,
Chris

Hey guys. So everyone has had some intense things that need prayers lately so I feel a little inapropriate posting this prayer request, but I really do need it. My boyfriend of nearly two and a half years ended things last night. Now I've always told God that I want him to do what he wants with this relationship, and if this is what he wants then so be it I suppose. But I really do feel completely lost right now, and I really am hoping that this isn't the end of us. If everyone could just pray for me and pray that whatever is supposed to happen will happen, it would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know if y'all have heard about the tornado outbreak yesterday and Friday in Georgia, but I live in a county that had probably 3 or 4 warnings in the time the storms were occurring. At one point, the news announced a warning, and I looked out my window to see rotation in the neighborhood next to mine. There were many moments like this in the day, all pretty much chock full of terror. My friend Michael had left my house to go home and was forced to turn around not 5 minutes later because he saw a funnel cloud in the direction he was heading. Later in the day, it was reported that there was a tornado headed towards the area I live in, and my friend Amy and I ran to the downstairs laundry room and prayed. I texted my good friend Andrew to pray for us, for he has a heart on fire for God, and he said he would, and to read Psalm 91. I had my Bible with me and read it aloud. Several minutes passed, and many more, until it seemed as though the storm outside had turned to nothing more than rain. Amy and I left the room, and went to the news; the tornado had dissolved in its path. I am amazed at the work of God and am very grateful to say my home is unscathed.
I'm also curious, has anyone else had an experience similar to this, in which nature was stopped in its tracks through prayer and God's will?

| we need a miracle :( |
[March 16th @ 12:52am] |
Please pray for my family. My step dad Michael is in criticial condition with an artificial heart. He is very weak, and needs our prayers. I have always thought that I wanted to witness a miracle, and we are in need of one here. He is really struggling to survive, but I know with God anything is possible. Please pray that God can restore his body, renew his spirit, and provide a heart for a transplant. Our family is weak, and in need of rest. The word says that Jesus will give rest to those who are weak and burdended. May we find peace in Him, rest in Him. May the Lord work in us, and work in Michael. May things happen behind the scenes that we cannot comprehend. Please Jesus let him live. In Jesus precious and holy name. Amen. -Michele

| My Testimony |
[March 14th @ 8:40pm] |
Hi, my name is Daniel. I grew up in a Christian home and I have many times committed my life to God. ( Read more... )Now I have a sense of real joy and peace in my life. I may be on disability, but there is meaning to my life. I have a direction and a future as the Lord promises. In His Word, (The Bible), He says, "God works out all things to the good of those that love Him and are called according to His purpose." "For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and future." Many of you who post on this blog insist that you do have a relationship with God. It may be true. But keep in mind that the Bible says the road leading to everlasting (eternal) life is narrow and the road leading to destruction is wide. ( Read more... ) You have to know you're lost to be found. Romans 3:23-24( Read more... ) We all deserve to be in Hell. We are all slowly dying. And every man is without excuse.
Romans 1:18-20( Read more... ) But there is hope if we acknowledge our sin. We need to confess Jesus Christ to be our Lord and Savior by mouth and believe that Jesus was raised from the dead after dying on the cross for our sins. Jesus will not reject us if we approach Him. Cry out Him.
Romans 10:8-13( Read more... ) From here on, you begin a new life with God and live that new life with salvation securely with God in peace.

| Talking about God too much? |
[March 12th @ 9:58pm] |
As someone whose life has been deeply affected by the love of God and Christ, I find myself talking about Them an awful lot. They're also often the subject of blogs and things like that on my profile sites.
Today, I was talking to my buddy Mitch, and he told me I "preach God far far far too much." I, of course, took the opportunity to talk to him about how he felt about God and hopefully reached him. I felt better about it after a while and prayed that I could be a light to him, but I couldn't stop thinking about what he said... The sad thing is, I barely realize I'm doing it! I suppose I fully knew God and Christ are my favorite discussion topics, but I never stopped to think about how it might affect other people.
What are your thoughts? Have you ever been told you talk about your faith too much? How did you/would you react? Or, on the other hand, have you ever felt like someone you know talks about God too much? How has it affected you or others?
I'm just quite curious to see other perspectives.

original post
i went in to talk to an advisor today. while i was not able to withdraw without still owing money, i was given special permission to take an easier course load. the counselor lowered my required units, and i was able to drop one of my four classes.
my dad is pretty much the same. he has to stay in the rehab hospital for at least two more weeks. afterwards, he will need constant care at home, and, especially with less classes now, i will be home as much as possible.
your continued prayer is appreciated.

readin a book that prompted me to ask these questions of you guys:
how much of your christianity do you see as communal? what christian communities do you belong to? what are those communities doing to serve others, as the christian community exists to serve others?
has anyone read Christianity Rediscovered? its about missions and such...I'm not sure if I'm a Christian but this book is immensely insightful into the gospel in general, as well as missions. pick it up maybe?

| To Write Love on Her Arms |
[February 13th @ 10:11am] |
|
"During the time of year that suicide rates are at their highest, we chose February 13, the day before Valentine's Day, as our opportunity to start showing people how much they are loved. We will physically write the word LOVE on our arms (with a sharpie, or whatever other ink suits you best). If someone asks you what it’s for, tell them about TWLOHA. Tell them they are loved, that they are important. And ask if you can write LOVE on their arm as a symbol of that. Don't be afraid to reach out to those who need love, those who you often walk right by every day. They need our care.
There is NO set time, there is NO set location. Where you are, when you are there, speak out."
