| About: | Welcome to the First Online Church of The Evolving Christ. This church has no set system of belief. Each member is free to believe as they see fit. The only requirement is a genuinely open-mind when it comes to the hypotheses, guesses, interpretations and faith of your fellow parishioners. Sermons may be given by any member, and any member may challenge, question, support or ignore any sermon. There are no priests, nuns, bishops, pastors, preachers, deacons, clergy or leaders of any kind in this church. This church does not accept money of any kind. Donations may be made in the name of this church to any charity of your choice, but when we say we are not for profit, we mean it. As an online church, this congregation has no need of facilities, buildings, seating, or fancy robes. Christ himself said that we should give to God what is God’s – the Church of the Evolving Christ wants nothing that is Caesar’s. The Church of the Evolving Christ espouses that no one human being or group of human beings can be in sole possession of the truth about creation, history, spirituality, salvation or damnation. The church only aims to give humanity a platform for open discussion of religious issues, using the philosophy of Christ as a starting point. | |
