A special guy
This is my fic for the drabble-a-thon. It took me some time to finish it. Most of the angst disapeared while I wrote it. Now there is mostly fluff left. Enjoy!!

Prompt: Rollercoaster
She couldn’t understand where this entire staff came from. 5 great boxes, 3 bags not to mention a couch and a computer.
“I don’t get it”, Chloe muttered under her breath while she carried another box into the living room.
Nevertheless, Jack had heard her. He kneeled beside the TV and tried to put his DVD’s in her cupboard.
“What is it?”
She shrugged. “For someone, who has been dead and then gone for so many month, you have far too much staff.”
When Jack didn’t answer, she looked over to him, a frown on her face. “Oh shit, I’m sorry. That was the wrong thing to say, again.”
“Don’t worry. I know what you mean. Kim kept a lot of my things and gave them back to me when I visited her last month.”
His smile vanished when he saw the tears gathering in her eyes.
“Hey”, he was in front of her in seconds. “There is no need to cry.”
Carefully he took the box from her and placed it on the ground. “Come here”, Jack sat down on the couch and gently dragged her in his lap.
“Why are you crying?”
“This is not going to work”, Chloe whispered sadly.
“Mhh?”
“This. Us. Our living together.”
“I doubt that.”
“But I’m sure. Jack, I’m not easy to be with. I often can’t sleep at night and wander through the house. I can’t cook. And I hate to tidy up.”
“I will do the cooking and I will keep the house clean and tidy. And you know I don’t sleep well myself, so we will just wander around together. Or find different activities to keep us occupied all night…”
Slowly he kissed down her neck, his hands gently roaming over her back. Chloe sight deeply. This felt so good but she was not running out of arguments yet.
“I always say the wrong thing, at the wrong time. Without meaning to, I insult people I’m an awful person. That’s why Morris left.”
“Morris left because he is a stupid ass. Chloe, look at me”, Jack tenderly raised her chin so that she had no other choice but to look him in the eyes.
“I love you. I already told you that I feel this way for a very long time now. And I’m not scared of your bluntness. I appreciate it. Because you, Baby would never ever lie to me. And I hate nothing more than lies. See? Perfect.”
Then his face grew serious. “Chloe, do you trust me?”
Chloe sight and leaned her forehead against his. “With my life.”
“And with your heart? “
She only nodded and kissed him softly.
Jacks arms tightened around her when he deepened the kiss, showing her how much he cared. When they finally came up for air, Jack continued in a husky voice.
“Trust me with this one Chloe: we are going to make it work. We deserve it.”
Finally, Chloe relaxed into his body. Her head rested on his shoulder, her fingers draw cycles on his chest.
“I guess you are right. But I still don’t know where to put all your things.”
Jack chuckled. “About that… I had a small problem with the DVD’s. Something stuck behind yours.”
Carefully he reached under the coffee table and pulled an old, brown teddy bear in Chloe’s lap.
“I didn’t know you already shared you apartment with someone.”
A large smile spread across her face as she reached for the bear. “Here you are again. I was looking for you.”
“A special guy?” Jack asked softly while toying with Teddy’s ears.
“Very special. I got him on my third birthday. He went to all the holiday camps with me. Slept in my bed. I held him when I cried over the first boy I was in love with. Do you remember my first day at CTU?”
“Sure”, Jack murmured, no longer caressing the teddy but Chloe.
“He was in a bag, under my desk. The whole day.”
Kissing her hair, he whispered: “What’s his name?”
“Jack.”
