This community is meant to inform about China, but more importantly to chronicle the changes happening within China, picking out the important articles that show major breakthroughs within the rapidly-developing nation, rather than dwelling on those that simply emphasize the same things over and over again (i.e.-"Vatican delegates travel to China for the first time in years" over "China appoints own bishops, angering the Vatican again"). It also likes articles about life in China, as opposed to straight-foward news articles, but still it has more of the latter. The tone of this community is usually optimistic towards the advancements of China, and there's slight cynicism on the part of the mod towards the Western media's attitude regarding everything in China. In fact, she might say that when looking at China, the West's viewpoint is that the glass is half-empty. This community wants to see it as more half-full. If this doesn't suit you, there's quite a few news blogs out there that will. Just be aware that news, even when reporting the facts, is not unbiased. Facts can be left out, details can be misrepresented, etc. Please keep this in mind when you read all news, especially those regarding a nominally Communist country in a very anti-Communist world.
