If you have ever self-mythologized, played let's pretend, worn different heads, played dress-up, dreamed in languages you couldn't understand, wondered if you were from "elsewhere", chosen your own cosmology, practiced mix 'n' magic, customized your dream-self, spoken in fluorescent word-bubbles, enjoyed playful possession, danced yourself into a god, travelled in-between, lived in-between, felt most at home in windows and doorways, played alchemist in your own mind, drew maps of your dreams, been caught reading your own instructions, invented secret languages, traveled to the underworld and back, visited every realm and lived in none, talked to animals, become an animal, walked a lonely path, refused to compromise just to fit in, drawn back the veil, or wished you were there, then you know what we're talking about.

Please know that this is a place for fluid mythologization of the Self and the shapeshifting shimmy of identity. The only currency is metaphorical currency in the form of discussion and narrative. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, you might not like it here. If you are hell-bent on facts and absolute truths, you may feel out of place. If you only plan to introduce yourself once, you may get dizzy. If you show up, please join in our reindeer games. Proofs and certifications do not apply. We are not seeking to self-delude, only to self-invent. All inventions are subject to revision and contradiction. Please feel free to change your mind. Please feel free to expand ours. Please make things up. Please tell your own truths. Please be gentle. This is not a place where unkindness will take root.* Please ask questions. Please wonder. Please help yourself.

This community will be moderated closely in order to keep discussions on topic. I appreciate contributions from different subcultures but I caution against construing this as a spill-over. This is not an otherkin, furry, plurality, faerie or glamourbomb community. This is a community where members of those communities are welcome to discuss their concepts of identity construction and to question literalism where imagination of the self is concerned. Likewise, I would hope for contributions from imaginative people who are not in any subculture, but who may come to the fluid concept of self or mythopoetic existence through artistic or other creative pathways. Writers, painters, musicians, poets, shamans: speak up. We need you here. If you are unswervingly convinced that you are factually a non-human, you may not like it here. If you are unswervingly convinced you are anything, you may not like it here. In fact, you won't. Please keep jargon and acronym usage to a minimum. Think of this as a panel of Becoming Experts. We all are. This is not the territory, this is a map. We can make it very detailed, but I want it to lead us someplace, anyplace, everyplace.
