Welcome to childsponsors. Here in the community we share pictures, stories, and letters that come from corresponding with the children we are sponsoring through non-profit organizations. We are proud to be able to share these miracles, and hope that you and others will join us in the spirit of giving and be a part of this amazing and fulfilling experience.
What is child sponsorship?
With just $18+ a month, you are providing a child with hope, life, opportunities and miracles. Funding is pooled and used for buying basic necessities, building wells for clean water and sanitation, building schools for education, nursing malnutrition and providing medical care for people in developing countries. Adults are sent for training to equip them with the skills necessary to improve the quality of life in their community.
Correspond with your sponsored child to send a word of encouragement and let him know you care. See in the photographs sent to you during the course of your sponsorship how your contribution is helping your sponsored child. You can also take a trip to visit your sponsored child, and see in person how your kindness has changed their life and life of their family.
Sponsor a child, and watch a special relationship form. Through sponsorship programs lives are changed forever, including your own. Links to well recommended sponsorship programs are available in the community. If you have questions or comments, please feel free to ask.
by Loren Eiseley, from The Star Thrower
A man was walking along a deserted beach at sunset. As he walked he could see a young boy in the distance. As he drew nearer he noticed that the boy kept bending down, picking something up and throwing it into the water. Time and again he kept hurling things into the ocean.
As the man approached even closer, he was able to see that the boy was picking up starfish that had been washed up on the beach. One at a time he was throwing them back into the water.
The man asked the boy what he was doing. The boy explained that the starfish would die if left stranded. "But there are miles of beach and thousands of starfish," the man said. "You can't possibly make a difference." The boy smiled, bent down and picked up another starfish, and as he threw it back into the sea, he replied, "I made a difference to that one."

When you sponsor a child, the organization you have chosen to sponsor him or her through will send you a welcome kit. The kit includes information on your child's interests, information about their family and their current situation, a recent photo, information on how to correspond with your sponsored child and/or send gifts, information on how your donation is used, and perhaps a few other things depending on the organization.
This community is made up of a group of people of all ages that have sponsored or are currently sponsoring children in need. If you are thinking about sponsoring, are currently sponsoring, or have previously sponsored, please join us and share our journey as we give our hearts to these children to make the world a better place.
