Crediting

Do I have to credit?
Yes. One line on the bottom of your userinfo will do.

Can I edit the code/header?
Yes, crop them, photoshop them, whatever. Just credit me for the original code. Do not use these codes for anything but your personal use. Do not edit the header/code and give the layout to other people, even with credit. They can come here for that.

Graphics

Can you make a layout just for me?
Layout requests are rarely open, so you should keep your eyes open for them. There has only been 2 cases of layout requests in the past 3 years. However, if you have a general graphic requests, you can check this page.

Where are the icons?
Indeed, where are the icons? You can find an assortment of them around the earlier entries of the com, but basically, Icons are restrictive and for some reason, I find them harder to make than layouts. There's a few floating around the communitiy, but other than that I don't post icons a lot unless they're icon challanges. Sometimes I make icons and credit chiharu_testing, but doesn't put it on the com. Basically, if you find an icon on someone else's userpics you like, and I've been credited, that pretty much means you can use them.

Others

My header isn't showing!
Check the website slot to see if you have a website filled out. If you don't, that's the reason the header image isn't showing. If you've done that and the layout is still messed up, leave a comment with your problem.

My colors are messed up!
It's easy to mistype something in the custom colors slot. Please check that first. After you've made sure that they are all correct, leave a comment with your problem.

My background moves by itself!
This happens in Mozilla, try using IE.

My code is messed up!
If you've edited the code besides the urls for the images, then I can't help you there. However, if you're sure you've done everything correctly, leave a comment with your problem. Also, the overrides only work if you have a free account or a paid account in s1. The table will be strentched if you use a Sponsor + account, so please keep that in mind.

You said that you don't use fanart for graphics, but you'll use doujinshi images. Since both are unofficial fanworks, and since usually people don't ask the artist before using the image, shouldn't the rule apply to both?
For doujinshi images, I have the author or at least the group name in the credits. :3 The rules apply for the fact that everyone needs to credit as I have inserted into the entry box; the only way you won't find the mangaka or group name for doujinshi related layouts is if the user didn't credit properly.

Installing S1 Layouts
First of all, go to the customize page of your journal. It should be located here. Scroll to the bottom of the page, and an empty override box should await you. That's where you paste in the S1 overrides.

Also, Check your profile to see if you have something filled in under the website slot. If the slot is empty, then the main header of your layout won't show up.

S1 layouts are only compitable with Free and Paid accounts, not Plus +

Installing S2 Layouts
If your layout is S2, it means that not only will your journal be customized, your "viewing entry" page and "comment" pages will also be customized. Usually, if a layout is S2, it will be clearly indicated. If not indicated, the layout is probably S1.

First of all, go into your customize page and select S2 as your style. Then, click on the either click on Customize your theme as shown. If your current theme isn't "flexible squares", just apply any flexible square theme as your default.

Then lj should take you to a page that looks like this. Click on the CSS link and it'll take you took another page like this. Make sure to disable your current stylesheets before enable an external one, then paste the CSS into the box.
