Nocturna this weekend, woo! They're going to have a fashion show this time, and a Valentine's Day theme.

I'm going to wear my good ol' Atelier Boz dress that I used to wear to all the meetups (lulz?). If you guys are also going and want to meet up there, that would be cool. I don't know when I'll get there or when I'll leave, so I don't want to plan a formal "meetup" thing, but it's fun to dance with other people and have someone to talk to during the crappy songs.

Hello all Lolitas who read this post!  I am brand new to LiveJournal, and this is my very first post!  I am looking forward to being Lolita for as long as I can!  I am looking to buy my very first Loli dress/JSK and I wondered if anyone could help me.  I've been to most of the Japanese Lolita brands websites that have English on them, as I'm not fluent in Japanese.  I don't have a PayPal/credit card, so it's impossible for me to buy Loli on the internet, which is the only way I can get it!  I really want to buy a Baby the Stars Shine Bright, Angelic Pretty, Black Peace Now, h.Naoto, Metamorphose, or any other name brand Loli dress/JSK!  Can anyone help me please?  I have money to buy one, but I don't have the means!  Please help a desperate Lolita to obtain her frilly and ribbon decorated addiction!

Yes, that is right!  In celebration of the new Alice in Wonderland movie, we will be performing Rocky Horror as Alice in Wonderland Characters!

I was thinking of the February crafternoon and realized it would be too late to go this Sunday if any plans were made. I really wanted to make valentines~ so in keeping with the crafty pink spirit of valentine's day, would anyone like to exchange hand made cards through the mail?

Just wanted to let everyone know that they should go to Uchicon at University of Chicago this weekend! It's this Saturday, 11am-7pm. 
I'm going to be there selling some goodies at the Artist Alley there :D  Sweets jewelry galore and maybe some other things. I'd like to have some printed fabric available too!

Hi all,

I will be organizing a springtime afternoon tea gathering at Pinecone Cottage in Downers Grove. (The location is RIGHT by the Metra station, for all the lovely city-dwelling lolitas. :D) This will probably take place sometime around the weekend of April 25-26.

The food and tea are excellent (the menu changes monthly and the owner uses many ingredients grown in her own garden) and the place is really cutely decorated; it would fit well with country or classic lolita but of course all styles are welcome. :)

If weather permits, we can do an outdoor photoshoot either before or after.

Logistics: Cost will be approximately $30 per person including tax and gratuity; I will get an exact figure once I know how many people are interested. The tea room can seat 32 people max.

If interested, please let me know:

1) How many people
2) Whether you'd prefer Saturday or Sunday (or an alternate date if neither works)
3) Any special dietary needs/preferences

Not sure about any Park District discounts.
Transportation: The CTA One Day Pass, giving you unlimited rides for 24 hrs, is $5.75 right now(BOO!) and the eateries appear to be off the red line + a bus, and then walking for 2 minutes on an "Unknown road"(Lol, I'm sure it has a name, Google Maps is just useless sometimes). I don't really ride the Metra so I can't tell you much there, and if anyone who CAN drive is up for carpooling, reasonably of course, do mention and maybe everyone can chip in for gas. XD

So I was browsing for things to do in Chicago when I came across the Weird Chicago Tours.  I was thinking it might be something you ladies would be interested in:

There was a previous post to this community about possibly going ice skating but one hasn't been planned. So... I thought maybe I would plan one, the problem being that I've never gone ice skating before. So, lots of questions: Is anyone interested in going this weekend? And if so, do you have a recommendation on where to would be the best place to go? Or would it better to wait till February, when hopefully the crowds will be less intense?

Obviously, since this is too short of notice for everyone who answered, I'll go ahead and wait. dol_the_elven says that she's planning to do a skating meet-up in Feb. and since she knows what she's doing (unlike me), I think I'll leave it in her capable hands. Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in getting together for a Valentine's lunch/tea.

Since I know many people (myself included) have significant others, I was thinking this could happen the weekend before V-Day, Saturday, February 6th. It could be nice to do it downtown, perhaps at the new restaurant in the Art Institute in the modern wing or the Signature Restaurant in the Hancock (it's not crazy expensive for lunch). The Art Institute would be great for picture taking since it connects to Millennium Park by bridge.

If this is something you'd like to do and you're free that weekend, let me know, and I can make reservations once there's a final count.

Would two weekends before or one weekend after V-Day also work for people? I just found out this morning I may be going to Disney February 4-7.
