DekoDen Group Order anyone?

So I recently received a replacement phone because my phone was stolen. It begs to be decorated!

I was wondering if anyone was interested in a DekoDen order? I'm hoping to save on shipping (It's a flat rate of 1,200 yen, but, I was hoping to split with people)

Here's how it would work

December Crafternoon Planning

It's still a few weeks away, but since November seems to have been skipped for events I was wondering if anyone had ideas for the December Crafternoon? For those tuning into this station a little bit on the later side, we try to host a general, casual get-together on the first weekend (usually Sunday) of the month--typically with some kind of activity. Due to the Halloween tea, November missed its meetup!

I was thinking about hosting a gingerbread-cookie decorating party at my tiny apartment, but my apartment is a) very tiny and b) has no seating or video-game/movie-watching-ness other than my 12" Hello Kitty television & DVD player. I also do not have a wireless network (how can she live like that?!? people must wonder... XD) so computer-parties are out of the question. Also, I would need to host it on Saturday, December 5, 2009 because I work on Sundays.

Although I am sure not everyone celebrates Christmas, I can't get that kind of holiday feeling out of my mind! I want to play Christmas music, bake gingerbread, drink eggnog & hot chocolate, and maybe have some kind of inexpensive holiday gift swap--or a white elephant swap? :D Maybe we could work knitting into the equation, since this will soon be very scarfy weather.

Would there be any interest, or was someone with a larger home planning on something else?

ALSO, how about anything else for December?
Personally, I'd love to go ice-skating at the rink in Millennium Park...although I am dreadful at skating. Admission is free; skate rental is $10. The Christkindlmarket will be in Daley Plaza soon, too! (My one-stop shop for pfferneuse and mulled cider. ♥) The store-formerly-known-as-Marshall-Fields-on-State-Street will have their decorated windows up soon, too--maybe a trip to take a peek could be combined with one of these other events? City Hall will be hosting a free concert series of children's choirs singing holiday music, as well!

I'd like to see everyone again and do something that hopefully will be ~free~ or pretty darn close to it!

Hello, I am new to the lolita community here on live journal. In fact I am new to LJ all together and do not know how to navigate on this site very well. I just wanted to introduce myself, and I am sorry if this is somehow in the wrong place. I'm a down town loli, and I have never been to a met up outside of Acen (which is a lot of fun) I don't know what else to say.

That was my introduction :D baiii!

ACen! It's never too early to start thinking about it!

Hello everyone!

I was wondering if people are interested in another swap meet and "picnic" again this year at ACen?
Also if anyone has objections with me planning it again this year let me know if you want to take over ^_^
If not help is always nice as well as we need lots of food for the turn out!

I'd like to try and get a different location this year if possible even if we meet in the same place the 'picnic' took place last year and then move. I dunno if there are any other places that would be decent to meet though!

Remember also if you have any questions about panels, the swap meet/picnic, or other things relating to ACen we do have a Community devoted to such things: [info]acen_gosurori

Thanks for reading!

New Moon viewing? (Yes, I'm serious~)

A bunch of us were talking at the tea party, and I was dead serious when I said I wanted to see the new Twilight movie. There is no shame, my friends, in enjoying the hell out of movies that pander to the worst in you.

What I'd really like to do is go see it opening night if possible (Nov. 19), in full-blown over-the-top sweet lolita, with a bunch of you guys so we are not so lame! Teach those vampire kids a lesson or two. Is anybody interested?

I've been a member of this group for years, almost since its beginnings and was friends with the founder Lilith. I like the Gothic Lolita look and all its variations but have never attended any of the events over the years because I'm male and older and I think me attending any public event would be kind of, I don't know.....not appropriate, so I never have.

I have though kept an eye on the group from afar, its slow times and its more active times, and I just want to say it's good to see the group so active and alive. This is the most active the group has ever been since Lilith started it years ago and it's good to see. Keep at it. ------

Hey all! Just wanted to try to get a head count for the Horror Movie Night (this Saturday at 5 at my apartment)! Please let me know if you're coming so that I can make sure that I have enough seats, food, and soda. LAST MINUTE CHIPOTLE OUTING!!!!

Hey guys.
For those of you who live in/near Chicago.....

WHO WANTS TO GET FREE CHIPOTLE WITH ME TONIGHT?

Every Halloween Chipotle gives away free burritos to those who come in "dressed as a burrito." By that, they mean, those who have even a scrap of tinfoil attached to their person. Like, a bracelet or something.

It's valid for all locations and it goes on until they close, which I think is 11pm.

Lemme know!!!

Saturday's Tea Party Info

Hey all! Saturday is the day, and I just want to make sure everyone knows what's going on. To refresh your memory, here's the basic info:

Where: Russian Tea Time, 77 E Adams St, Chicago
When: Saturday, Oct 31st, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

If you'd like to stay in the city for the Nocturna Ball, you're welcome to hang out and join the group that's going. What happens after the tea party can be played by ear.

TRANSPORTATION
Russian Tea Time is in the Loop. It's extremely well connected to the CTA, and if you're driving there will be parking garages, but street parking will be sparse so you'll need to bring extra money for parking fees.

METRA RIDERS: The tea parlor is highly accessable from both stations. From Union Station, you exit on Adams St and walk East over the bridge and towards the lake towards Wacker/Michigan. From Oglvie you exit on Madison street, walk South two blocks to Adams and then East over the bridge to Wacker/Michigan. Because of the close proximity of the tea house to both stations, I don't think we're going to set up a pick up this time. If you feel you truly need someone to meet you at the station so that you don't get lost, please contact me immediately and I'll try to set something up.

See? Really easy. Just make sure you take a train that gets in before 1 (and make sure you check the right schedule...I think that Halloween runs on the "Sunday/Holiday" train schedule)

QUESTIONS THE DAY OF
If you have questions or problems the day of the tea, please call 630-453-2427.

Did I miss anything? I don't think so. If I did, you know the drill. :)

Tea Payments

There are still people who've put down deposits who have not paid their full balance. THIS IS THE LAST DAY YOU MAY PAY THIS BALANCE. I'm working on prepaying this event very early next week, and I need all money in by TODAY.

If you fail to pay your balance by today, I'm sorry but you'll have to forfeit your reservation and prior deposit. So please skip on over to paypal and get on that, for those of you who haven't.

Feeler Post: New Year's Getaway Event in Galena, IL, December 30th to January 3rd

Hello Everyone,

What are you doing for the New Year?

Right now, I'm in the midst of planning an overnight meetup at the fabulous Ryan Mansion of Galena. The mansion is a lovely bed-and-breakfast located in the charming town of Galena, IL. In the past I've hosted a full springtime meetup as well as a holiday getaway in Galena and all attendees have enjoyed themselves quite a bit.

Currently there are some spots open in the Ryan Mansion and at the sister bed-and-breakfast Annie Wiggins, which is just down the road and equally lovely.

The meetup is scheduled for December 30th to January 3rd, allowing plenty of time to arrive, relax, and depart. Among other activities I have planned: a full afternoon tea, champagne toast at New Year's, shopping and fun, a formal dinner, and perhaps more! (Galena has hot air balloon rides AND horse drawn sleighs so those are possibly in the works)

Room costs for the four nights with tax and full breakfast included range from $280 to $450, based on double occupancy. Yes, that's right FOUR nights with a delicious full breakfast at cheaper-than-hotel rates. And trust me, the rooms are gorgeous.

If you feel that you would be interested in making this event a part of your New Year's plans AND you are seriously interested in coming, please comment. Please try to only comment if you are seriously interested in coming because I'm trying to get an idea as a planner about how much interest there is in such a meeting.

Answers to questions that will probably come up:

1) Yes significant others are welcome. So are non-Lolita friends, provided they dress nicely to formal events such as afternoon tea.

2) Room cost is double occupancy. So costs for the full room are times two.

3) You are responsible for your own transport to and from the event. I'm personally going to ask a friend to let me carpool with them and split gas :)

4) Yes, this is over New Year's and if you can only stay until the 2nd that's not a problem. If you want to come for part of the meetup, that's fine. I'm just trying to give the inn as much business as possible since they've been so nice to us.
