| About: | Are you a girl who loves games? Do you like to create a character with a pencil, some paper, and LOTS of books for reference? Have your Warhammer armies beat the snot out of others? Do you have more Magic cards than most guys you know? Is your dice collection matched to your mood? Do you create costumes that would rival most Halloween outfits for your weekly LARP session?
If so, welcome to Chicks With Dice.
I created CWD in August of 2005 after noticing the lack of female gaming support sites. Most of the girl gamers that are advertised on the internet focus on video gamers. That's cool, but I thought that there was a distinct lack of camaraderie between the old-school RPGers. So, I set up this community for pencil-and-paper role playing games, collectible card games, board games, and miniature gaming. I'm talking about old-school gaming with a handful of dice, not a joystick or controller.
Here's the rules, and I ask that you read and pay attention to them before posting:
1. Don't be shy, step on up and say hi. Tell us who you are, what kind of games you like, how long you've played, all that stuff. This is not required, but we'd like to meet our new friends.
2. Reviews of books, games, new booster sets, armies, etc., are welcome! If there is any story info that seems more like a spoiler, then please place it behind a cut, so you don't spoil it for the players.
3. Ads and community promos must be submitted to me for approval before posting. It must have something to do with gaming. Example - Conventions are okay, rating communities are not. Once you have the okay from me, you may post the advertisement or promo. Just email me at the address listed above and ask.
4. Play nice. You may hate Changeling: The Dreaming with a flaming purple and puce passion, but there may be others who play and enjoy it. Please don't bash anyone else for their choices and preferences. We're all gamers here!
4. If you're a troll, take your attention-whoring asshat self out of this community. You're not welcome, and never will be welcome. Members, try not to respond to obvious trolls. If you see a post that says "OMG ROFL liek gamez is s0 l4mez0rz!!!!!!11", just ignore it. Responding to it always gives them fuel to their fire. Just ignore them and they'll run off eventually (or get banninated).
5. Most importantly - ALL POSTS must have something to do with gaming.
So pop on in, grab some chips and your choice of caffeinated beverage, and start the dice rolling! (No pun intended. Okay, well, maybe a little.)
