What's the deal with the East and North legs of the Loop closing on the weekends? Anyone else hear about this?

	Interesting. The person who was telling me about this this afternoon described the service interruptions as happening every evening and weekend until the end of the year, not just this weekend. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Yep. They're replacing 10,000 feet of track in the Loop, and installing a new control system at both junctions. (Reply to this)(Parent)

	I'd say that person was right. The initial press release says that "Customers can expect these types of reroutes through Thanksgiving 2008." It looks like the reroutes started last Wednesday night and will continue most nights and weekends until then. (Reply to this)(Parent)

	I experienced this without knowing. I was going down to the loop on the brown line and without any announcement, the brown line became an orange line. Had to get off at Library and walk like 6 blocks to Millenium Park. (Reply to this)
