Holiday Train

I ran into the CTA Holiday Train the other day. It made my day, and happily I had my camera.

One day last year I was on School St.(?) just north of Belmont, walking under the El tracks when I heard a train approaching. Well, I bent over, grabbed a giant hunk of snow, started molding a snow ball, and I ran out from under the tracks, turned around, and cocked my arm to let loose with a very hard, well packed snowball. But, as I looked up I saw it was the Santa Train, it was moving slow, and Santa looked right down at me. I just shrugged my shoulders, dropped the snow ball and waved. As much as I dislike Christmas and as much as I LOVE throwing snowballs, I just couldn't throw one at Santa. I think that Santa knew that I wasn't planning on throwing at him because he yelled down a loud "Merry Christmas!" and waved. I waved back and went on my way.

Santa has the coolest job ever. They were on the Purple Line today and all I could think of was how cool it would to be Santa on that ride. A bird's eye view of the northside with no windows.
