Hey, I am a comedian out of Portland Oregon. Myself and one other comedian, Joe Fontenot are launching a nationa tourl called  The Cripple xXx Comedy Tour in February which will help raise money for United Cerebral Palsy Foundation. It’s not your normal fundraiser, It is a very dirt show. I’m considered by media here is one of the dirtiest comedians in the NW. After the 8th of March we have open dates and we will be finishing up our shows in Minneapolis and heading towards Cleveland.  I am very interested in finding a Chicago area venue, is there anyone in your community that might be able to help us find one.

I have a complete digital press kit with sample vids of the tour, or you can also go and check out www.myspace.com/cripplex. I have cerebral Palsy,  this is a very important project to me. And I’m not your normal cute disability act you normally come across. I’ve opened for Stanhope many times, worked with Sean Rouse on more than one occasion and good friends with Stanhope and Andy Andris. I've been in comedy for 18 years.

 Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Danny Bevins is going to be at the Improv in Schaumburg this weekend performing with the Jameson Comedy Tour. That show costs $17...

But tonight you can actually see him for only $5 at The Birds Nest (2500 N Southport)!

This LA based comedian been on Comedy Central, The HBO Aspen Comedy Festival, The San Francisco International Comedy Festival and a lot of other things. It's going to be a great show and it's a great deal.

Show starts @ 9pm.

Have you been to the Gorilla Tango Theater (1919 N Milwaukee) yet? It's an awesome little theater that is putting on some great comedy shows. Every Wednesday they have the "Spectacular Show" hosted by Cameron Esposito. The show features 5 or 6 different comics every week. It's a great show and Cameron brings free cupcakes for the crowd! Check it out because it's a lot of fun. Where else are you going to go on a Wednesday?

Showtime is 10pm every Wednesday

The Birds Nest Comedy Showcase is having their 1 year anniversary tonight. Come on out and celebrate with a night of FREE comedy! Scheduled performers include Mike Stanley, Victor Marinier, Dean Carlson, Brendan McGowan, Sean Rumrill, Nick Morgan, Jeff Hansen, Daryl Amandes, Sam Fels, and Bradley Fojas!

There are probably more people performing as well as more surprises through out the night. You will be thoroughly entertained if you are in attendance this evening. You will also be able to enjoy $2 PBR cans and $1 tacos.

"The Historic North Side" -- Now back from our summer hiatus, The Lodge inaugarates Season VII with Opening Fezz-tivities 2006. This gala event includes a pre-show reception with The Lodge cast featuring a complimentary "comfort food" buffett and $2 beers and cocktails, followed by a press conference in which the producers of The Lincoln Lodge will unveil its special programming for the 2006-2007 season and introduce this season's new cast members and featured members.

And if that's not enough, at 9pm we'll have our first two performances of Chicago's best stand-up comedy and variety showcase featuring our own STEVE O. HARVEY, rising comic JARED LOGAN ("A Demon Who Never Appeared"), and The Lodge debut of performance poet ROBBIE Q. For our headliner, we're thrilled to bring back Chicago native DWAYNE KENNEDY, as featured on the Late Show With David Letterman, Late Night With Conan O'Brien and his own half-hour Showtime special.

So what does all this showbiz magic cost? Just $15 for the opening cocktail reception, press conference and show -- or just $8 if you attend the show at 9pm. The entire program will run both nights. Tonight, you'll be getting your drink on for a good cause, with me, over at the MIX, 2843 N. Halsted. Doors at 8 p.m., drinking at 8:30 until 9:30, show at 9 p.m.

Show!? Yes, there is also a show! A stand-up comedy show! For $12, you get a) a show, b) booze for an hour, c) to do something good for the Midwest Workers Association -- they help the uninsured get proper medical treatment, they collect food, they place Katrina victims with needed legal representation, and more. The Birds Nest Comedy Show returns this Monday, July 31st with an open mic. They don't do open mics very often, so you won't want to miss this. If you would like to come on down, the show will be starting around 9. Performers will get between 8 and 10 mins, so it will be a lot more time then most open mics.

Birds Nest is located on 2500 N Southport. Unless things have changed during the hiatus, tacos are $1 and PBR cans are $2. See you there.

The Improv in Schaumburg is having a new talent night! This is a huge step for the Chicago comedy scene as this now gives the local comics a good place to work in front of great crowds and nationally recognized headliners! If you love the Chicago standup comedy scene then come on out and show some support. Thanks.
