PHILADELPHIA: Love-struck teenyboppers trudge through the quickly accumulating snow to join the Black Parade!

My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way / Photo by James Hamilton

Mega-poppy punk rock melded with pyrotechnics and cannonballs of confetti tonight at Temple University's Liacouras Center as the Black Parade began its march across the U.S. Although it was practically impossible to hear the haunting lyrics and guitar riffs above the sound of the 12-year-old girls screaming their hearts out and declaring their undying love for their band member of choice, when My Chemical Romance broke into Welcome to the Black Parade, the entire arena erupted. Even the mothers perched behind their beloved daughters adorned in studs, wrist bands, and black eye liner couldn't help themselves but to bop their heads along to the catchy beat.

As the city became blanketed with snow and the entire country sat glued in front of their TV's checking out whether or not Martin Scorsese would be snubbed by the academy again, MCR and Chicago's Rise Against were greeted with absolute fervor by the youth of the city of brotherly love. Hooray for only asking dudes and two women who hate MCR? Haha. I think it's weird that the last girl mentioned Lords of Dogtown.. because the opening band Rise Against were in the first cut of that movie. O_O

yes, they all got duplicates made because they were having to dryclean the jackets once every day after each and every show and if they were to continue doing that the jackets would fade like crazy and get really worn out. and also mikey was apparently paranoid and totally sketched out that someone would steal them from the drycleaners and try to auction them off on ebay for ridiculous amounts of money. and if you look closely you can notice that gerard has no buttons down the middle of his jacket anymore, because on the other one they kept falling off, and in some pictures his sleeves are laced together on the inside of his wrist. they're pretty spiffy, i can't say i probably wouldn't try to steal one if i saw them at my local cleaners.....

Not every My Chem is some raging hormonal teenagers
Why did they interview people who hate the band?

A lot of MCR fans are over 18.

And! lol at Rob Wyatt.

"I would never want to see them in a film because I hate them and what they're doing to the music scene. I only came to see the opening band."

Rofl. I bet you five bucks she only listens to shitty punk music. No offense to anyone that likes punk music, but I honestly can't stand it and over the course of this year and an annoying kid in my class I've gotten totally awesome at bashing punks who hate MCR.
Yeah, yeah, I know it's nothing to be proud of but I'd like to have a go at her with her taste.
And I don't dislike punk (asides from The Clash, cause they're goood) cause of their attitude towards MCR. It actually geniunely makes my ears bleed and I would never be able to attend any sort of event if Frank was controlling the music.

Although it was practically impossible to hear the haunting lyrics and guitar riffs above the sound of the 12-year-old girls screaming their hearts out and declaring their undying love for their band member of choice

And most of the people they interviewed were adult men.

I wanna see MCR in a sci fi movie : D

I like punk music, but I also enjoy other genres :) I normally don't like punks at alllll. They are all for being open minded, but when it comes to music taste they are very judgemental. I find most to be that way, but I meet a few cool punks :)

Honestly, I would not like to see them in a movie because they are kind of... everywhere. At least in the part of the Internet I hang out in. I love their music and stuff but MCR overload FTL.

Unless it's Leonardo Di Caprio or some hot hollywood dude like that, getting into a bitch fight against Frank to see who gets more ladies.

The hollywood hot dude would get so pwnd. Somebody call Alfonso Cuarón to direct that movie because it would kick ass in the box office.

that offended me a tad bit, tbh - even though i'm 18, not 12 - because:
a) contrary to popular belief, my chem does, in fact, have fans of the male gender.
and b) we're not all squealing, obnoxious preteens, dammit.

way to indirectly compare a my chem show to an nsync concert, fuckers.

The teenie-bopper comment was odd. As I walked past the line last night, my friend and i laughed because everyone was clad head-to-toe in black, I felt so out of place with my bright green jacket. Everyone there was older than I thought it would be, the youngest I saw was a few 13-year olds and one 11 year old boy. It was so far from teenie, it was refreshing and satisfying. Nice to see/meet some people that actually care more about the music than the pretty-ness of the band. *looks pointedly at the idiotic moron at my school who said Pete Wentz spit into her mouth at a concert, but it was okay because he's her husband*

Fuck this 12-year-old hormonal crap. Sick way of discrediting the band and the fans completely.
And anyway, I met the coolest 11-year-old motherfucker EVER. He was so badass, srsly. Fuck this article.

And that punxrawk3r grrrrl has got to be fucking kidding me. If she was going to see Rise Against, she would've gone to see them by themselves instead of paying over 40-fucking-dollars. $10 says she stayed for MCR and fucking creamed her panties when Gerard came out.
