I'm so tempted to write an FU post about this idiot. And by idiot, I mean the Doubting Thomas who reckons that just because Mikey didn't always intend to work in the comic books industry his career, that his stint as guest writer for DC is just a 'hobby' on his part rather than a 'srs bizness' like Gerard. Sorry sweetie, but Gerard was hoping to enter into the comics industry initially as an illustrator. That's one of the things he was studying at art school and what he hoped would lead to a career in the industry. A comic writer does not necessarily have to go to art school to learn how to draw in order to become a writer.

It really annoys me when people talk about things they don't fully know about themselves and make assumptions based on their very limited knowledge. I bet this girl never even opened a comic until Gerard started writing them.

Forever, Now - Brian Schechter/Gerard Way. That's the pairing, but it's not what you think. One day, while walking home from work, Brian comes across a runaway who had stolen his wallet earlier that morning. The kid returns his wallet to him (empty of course), and Brian, beyond all logic, finds himself offering the kid his business card, telling him to come by his house if he ever needs help. One day, the kid shows up at his house because his little brother is sick and Brian ends up taking the two runaways in. This story is absolutely amazing. Utterly epic. So goddamned good that you'll be up all night reading it to the very end (trust me). To quote a wise man, I sobbed "like a little bitch with a skinned knee and shit" from Chapter 5 onwards. Seriously, this story is a must read. You will laugh. You will cry. You will want to cuddle Frank while Brendon teaches you how to play Dungeons and Dragons. Oh, and you'll want to stay away from Frank's mum. Heh.

Lots of local bands were in attendance. As some would know (ie blackeyedwicca), there were also some eye candy there. It kept sleeplessgirl83 very entertained. *rolls eyes* Okay, I'm guilty of enjoying the eye candy as well, but not to the extent that she did. Personally, had a bit of a giggle at the guy that she called the Jared lookalike. He was certainly theatrical and entertaining, to say the least. Me? I had my eye on one of his band's guitarist. Very pretty boy. Heh. Their music? Actually really good, and they have a song called Queen Scene which immediately got me laughing because that's pretty much Bekki. We ended up getting their EP, so I'm looking forward to listening to that tomorrow. Will also be posting a music rec soon, with the links to the bands that we liked from tonight.

Headlining band was certainly interesting. Heavy, melodic and just fucking cool as. They are what you get when you mix a melodic metal band with the Street Drums Corps. Fucking excellent stuff. Very entertaining to watch, and the music was fantastic. I'll definitely be wanting to see them play again.

There was another band that kind of reminded me of Rage Against The Machine with their dreads. It was pretty much some kick arse hard rock with, I think, a bit of reggae/ska influence in one of their new songs. Again, another one I wouldn't mind seeing again.

Of course, can't forget the Jepha-lookalike. Had a giggle because he came right up to Bekki and got right in her face when he saw she was taking photos. I had to nudge her to take photos of him cos she was already a little braindead from the heat of the place at that point. Yes, got to admit that he's pretty, but the band was actually pretty good. Again, another band we have plans of seeing again, but they're from Melbourne so we have to wait for them to come back up to Sydney.

Saw Belle. She's that absolutely hilarious girl that Bekki and I met while waiting for .hinge to come onstage the night we worked the Mammal show. Love that girl. It was her 22nd birthday too. She's so cute.

Managed to get to the venue and back without having to drive through any heavy rain, thank christ. I took it slow anyway because I'm a cheap sucky old lady who doesn't want to have to fork out money for a fine, plus it's double demerits this entire weekend because it's a long weekend.

Bedtime. I'm tired, and my eyeliner is very badly smudged. *wails* Why didn't you tell me it was all messy under my eyes Bekki?!

Just kidding. But this is why I don't normally wear this shit on my lower lash line. ;p

BTVS' Riley's missus and sister of 30STM's Tomo Milicevic Ivana Milicevic will be appearing on an episode of Pushing Daisies. I really should try and watch that series.

I had a particularly interesting day today. Maybe not to you guys, but I felt like posting about it.

Brendon has a huge crush on Mikey, but Mikey is one of those unbelievably cool and untouchable kids, along with his friends Ryan and Maja. Brendon's always just admired him from afar, too scared to even talk to him. His inner dialogues are also pretty funny.

Fox - Frank/Gerard. Umm. This one is not for everyone. Set in an AU where Gerard is half human, half fox, so, to put it bluntly, this is bordering on inter-species erotica. Read at your own risk, but the idea of Gerard having a fox's tail was too good for me to resist.
