Monday's Comic and Other Odds and Ends

  • Aug. 13th, 2006 at 10:08 PM
Completely random thoughts about the comic and comic stuff.

Monday’s comic looks good. It’s an experiment in torn paper effect using, well … torn paper. Yes, some of the torn paper effects in the last few COTCs used elements of actual torn paper. :D Part of it is the effect of the moment and the fragmentation of the characters, but it is also a return for me to an element I used to use quite often. This time it’s not just for a grunge effect. ;) Yeah, I know there is a Photoshop button for that, but I guess I wanted to play a more active roll in the finished elements. Besides, had I done it in Photoshop I would have spent an hour or so tweaking the effect, when I could have just ripped the paper in a few seconds. ;)

I went to a meeting of the [info]ncwccc today. We all had a good time. One quote stood out in my mind. “The lesson is learned, but the damage is done”, which was referring to the lack of updates. Do to health problems, I only posted 11 comics in 5 months and that doesn’t include the cats. Thanks again everyone for the cats! So, I wonder if COTC will ever regain its momentum. I guess we’ll see.

Sorcery 101 joined Keenspot the other week and I really dig it! Might do a crossover some day. I especially enjoy the dialogue and the almost mundane way the characters deal with being what they are. Very cool.
