AboutWhat this community is for:
LJ has everything food..From cute cupcakes, to the baddest BBQ recipes around. It takes little to no effort to find recipies on LJ. You can always find what you're looking for.
But now that you have the delicious recipes, who do you feed? Yourself? Your mom? The dog?
This community is for young people with an aspiration for cooking to meet new friends, and to learn new things about food, and presentation that you cant get from a random stranger's recipe.
What do we do here:
Have you ever watched the cooking network, and seen these amazing chefs making delicate 4 course meals from NOTHING? Does it make you jealous?
This community is for learning from your new friends. Learn about presentation, cooking secrets, and new foods which you'd never thought to even try before. Every week there will be a new 'food of the week' to learn about, or identify, and there will also be a recipe of the week, for members to make, present, and photograph for the community members. The photos will then be critiqued on presentation, look (since we cant eat a photo), and factual information given about the food used. Winners recieve lots of e-hugs, and bragging rights. XD
Who is this community for:
We dont need 40-something chefs here who have been to culinary school and have worked as a head chef at the most upscale resurant in their town for 10 years.
We want young people, who have a fondness for cooking, and not nessicarily a drive to become the most amazing, know it all chef we've ever seen.
The less experience you have with 'real' cooking, the better. So many people can relate to a plain old NORMAL 20-something who cooks. Welcome to the community!

1. Share with us, learn from the people around you.
2. When photo challenges happen- there will be NO OLD PHOTOS! How unfair would it be for someone to waltz in, post up a picture from last year's BBQ at uncle Bob's and win?
3. Do NOT spam my community with recipies and nothing else. There are TONS of other places on LJ for that
4. Dont be too harsh when giving critique. The goal is to help, not hinder.
5. Learn from the tips you're given and improve! If you post a picture with a sloppy bowl of pasta..and somebody SAYS "that looks sloppy!" then clean it up and re-post again!
6. Spread the word of this place! Help me make it a big community full of people to talk with!
7. One picture can be outside the cut, the rest must be under....and again..NO OLD PHOTOS! Work for your compliments people! It builds character!
8. Everybody has a specialty they prefer to work with. Step outside your comfort zone and expand your creativity!
9. Please DO NOT post up new foods, or challenges of the week. I prefer to do that myself so nobody's posts get overlooked!
10: Sales, advertisements and any sort of community spam will be deleted without hesitation. Please post them elsewhere.
