On the Homefront
Do you know what the worst part about this entry is? I thought about it on April 30th. Gah. Oh well, this is a belated (and therefore ineligible) entry to the April challenge: Military Law or Regulations

The Hyel fics.
Okay, so, I had no idea what this would turn into when I started writing. It was going to be gen and funny, but Mal started flirting with Polly and it was all downhill from there.

I suppose one day I'll organize my more thought-out ficlets so they actually join up. This, on its own, rather lacks an ending - I know that. Ehh. None the less, I wrote it, and I'm not gonna write any more right now, so here you go.

Also, this was written for the April Challenge. For which you still have time to answer, oh members, hint hint, nudge nudge.

So: Polly/Mal preslash and unfinished plotting. C&C welcome.

...And an extra drabble concerning Igorina, written for [info]discworld100:

Private Surgeon

It had only been two months since Igorina had bought out a clerk's office. Already she had a new surgery table and a nice electrical converter set up with the money her patients had paid. Women's problems, they were called, but women needed surgery almost as much as men did; it was far better than needlework.

There weren't many settled Igors like herself, nor yet any as famous. She'd followed the clerk's advice and her sign featured a redcoat Igor. It certainly didn't hurt the business.

And it did look clever next to the sign that said: Igorina, Private Surgeon.

What do you think? :-)
Did I make things clear enough?
Any suggestions? :-)

Introducing our very first monthly challenge!
The April challenge theme: military law or regulations.

The answers could be anything - fic, art, essay, icons, whatever that's creative and complete. Okay, or a WIP. Why not?

Don't post them in the replies of this post, but directly on the community, so everyone can see. And I'll have a button or something for all the participants.
