[info]chase_fest: RULES & GUIDELINES

RULES & GUIDELINES

1) The concept for this community is credited to house_fest, [info]cuddy_fest, [info]foreman_fest, and [info]wilson_fest.

2) The purpose [info]chase_fest is to offer prompts for Chase fans to create Chase!Centric fan works such as fanfiction, fanart, or fanvids. Gen or any ship with Chase is welcome. Het and Slash friendly.

3) Flaming, abuse, or disrespectul conduct by, or towards, members is not tolerated. PLAGARISM is against the law and STRICTLY FORBIDDEN.

4) It is your own responsibility to observe the laws of your own country regarding age of consent for viewing and/or reading fanwork with restricted content. We will not take responsibility for underage visitors viewing content illegal to their age.

5) Gen or any ship with Chase is welcome. The only restriction is your work MUST be Chase!Centric.

6) We are het and slash friendly. Threesomes, etc are tolerated.

7) Please rate your work appropriate. Please mark adult contest NSFW.

8) Please include appropriate warnings at the beginning of your work so no reader/watcher has any nasty and unwanted surprises.

9) Please use the following format when posting your work:

Title:
Author/Artist/Vidder:
Pairing and/or characters:
Rating:
Summary:
Warnings:
Word Count (if applicable):
Disclaimer:

10) We anticipate each round to take approximately two months to run.

PARTICIPANT INFO

11) A PROMPT is a Chase!Centric idea submitted by anyone who has suggestions to offer for a fanfic, fanart, or fanvid. By submitting a prompt, you agree to let this be included in our master claims list for participants to claim and respond to. Submitting a prompt is no guarantee your idea will be used.

12) Unused prompts will be rolled over to the next round, with each unused prompt being available for three rounds before we remove them. If, however, you see an unused prompt you would like to use outside of [info]chase_fest once the round is over, you're more than welcome to contact us and request this, and credit the prompt submitter appropriately for the idea. The last thing we want to do is restrict anyone if their muse is sparked by a prompt they want to use beyond the Fest.

13) A CLAIM is when a participant claims a prompt from our master list of prompts. Only one per can claim each prompt, and when a claim is submitted the prompt is closed to other participants.

14) A maximum of THREE claims by each participant is allowed in the first instance. If you complete all your claims and have posted the finished work, we may allow further prompts to be claimed.

15) You are free to post your work to any other location, but please just ensure you link it on [info]chase_fest for it to be included in the challenge responses.

16) If you are unable to meet the challenge deadline, we do still welcome you to post your response. However, we do ask you wait until the submission period for the current challenge is closed before posting any work that you did not complete by the deadline.

SUBMISSION INFO

17) Fics must be at least 750 words in length.

18) All work submitted must be Chase!Centric and complete. No Works-in-progress, please.

19) Please ensure your work is spelling, grammar, and punctuation friendly. We encourage the use of Betas before posting.

20) Please advise us via a reply to this post if you are unable to complete your work by the deadline. Out of fairness to others who might like your prompt, if you are unable to fulfill your claim, please advise us at the soonest opportunity.

If you have any further questions or queries, please drop us a line here or email us on chase.fest@gmail.com and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.

great work you did, I love the idea for communitys for Chase! I prefer Wilson and already add your wilson community, but Chase is nice too :-)
I want to know if its ok. to post fan fiction in other languages?
I plan to write a House MD. fanfiction but I like to write it in german, later I'll translate it in english... ok. it's possible to post fanfiction after translation but maybe there are some german fans wo are able to read it :-)

Of course! Just so long as you are able to post the translation at some point, we would more than welcome other languages.

What are your rules for unclaimed prompts? Do they get retired or recycled for the next round? How often are you planning rounds?

One round takes about two months to rollover from the gathering prompt phase to the posting of the completed work. As we are still new to this, we will see how the first round goes, but we would anticipate beginning a new round a few weeks after the first one ends.

As for the prompts, we do plan on rolling them over to the next round, with perhaps each unused prompt only rolling over for three rounds before we remove them.

Hope this helps! :)

Thanks! Was just wondering whether I should post more prompts now or save them for the next round. Three rollovers sounds good to me -- have to strike a balance between retiring ideas that people think are boring and recognizing that there just aren't all that many Chase writers out there yet. *g*

Yay for round 2! I can never resist this fest...

but I have to ask, if I participated in round 1 and finished my prompts, can I still submit a prompt and participate in round 2?

Absolutely! Our main purpose has always just to unite Chase fans and encourage more Chase-centric fanwork. We're happy to have people participate in all the fests and don't want to restrict is we can possibly help it.

What are your rules for advertising? I'd like to advertise House Undercover, a House Spy RPG set in the 1950s here, if that would be possible.

Thanks

Hi. Sorry, no. We only allow Chase centric communities to be advertised here.
