| RP Sunday: We Are Not Who (Or What) We Are |
[Dec. 26th, 2009|11:40 pm] |

To walk a mile is someone else's shoes is supposed to help you understand them. Tonight, we challenge you to be a different species than you usually are. If you're a human, be a vampire or some other supernatural being. If you are a supernatural being, try another set of supernatural kicks on for size, or be a squishy mortal for awhile.
Please remember to include the 'rp' tag in addition to your own character tag. |

| Friday: Make Your List |
[Dec. 25th, 2009|04:46 pm] |

In the spirit of the Season of Consumption, list what your char _received_ for their holiday loot. Everything from the greatly desired (season tickets the ballet? A pashmina? A PS3? A Snuggie?) to the not so desired (fruitcake? An in-home waxing kit? The aforementioned Snuggie?).
Also, as a bonus, feel free to list what your char gave to others, from their significant other to that surprise-guest who turned up unexpectedly.
*Consider this post a follow up to the Post of Christmas Past- AKA, the prompt of two weeks ago*
**Today's prompt is late. Feel free to leave switches in kidcyclone's stocking.
***For the muses who don't celebrate Christmas, an alternate list:
List the most annoying things about being a person who doesn't celebrate Christmas, during December. |

| Thursday: The Drabbles Of Christmas |
[Dec. 24th, 2009|04:14 am] |

Tonight, with Christmas nipping at our heels, we invite you to write Christmas drabbles. In fact, we would like you to write 12 drabbles, if you can.
Consider this writing exercise our Christmas gift to all of you! |

| Wednesday: Get OOC |
[Dec. 23rd, 2009|02:36 am] |

For this graphics prompt, post or draw an image of your character acting in a way that's out-of-character for them. Whether that's a picture of their PB (played-by) hugging puppies, or a stick figure doodle of your character with a big happy face, show us a picture of them as they would never actually act, barring crack settings and mind-altering substances. |

| Munday: I wish... |
[Dec. 21st, 2009|12:23 pm] |

Step one: Create and post a list of wishes related to writing / roleplaying / characters . New icons? More friends to play with? A beta reader? Fandom friends? Some paid journal time? Help researching a difficult topic?
Make your wishes known!
Step two: Visit other people's posts, and fill what wishes you can. See who comes to fill your wishes.
Play Santa! |

| Sunday: RP Challenge! |
[Dec. 19th, 2009|10:35 pm] |

Today's challenge: Snow days and holidays mean time off work and school! The trouble with all this free time is, you've got to find something to do with it. The telly's out, you're snowed in, and you've read all your books. What will you and your friends do to entertain yourselves til the snow plough comes through?
Title your post Open RP and create an introductory post explaining how your char is working to stave off cabin fever. Whether it's with a rousing game of kitten poker, parlour games, winter sport like ice skating, hockey, or snow cricket, or making snow men (and womyn), or putting together a gingerbread house, show us how your chars while away the hours when it's cold, the roads are blocked and the shopping mall is closed. |

| Thursday - Oh The Horror! |
[Dec. 16th, 2009|09:52 pm] |

Horror films. We've all seen them, with their cheesy effects and bad acting. Characters in these films tend to fill rolls, don't they? From the hero to the asshole, everyone has a part to play.
What's yours?
The monster is loose, and it's hungry. What part do you fall into? Do you survive? |
|
|
| Wednesday- Haven't you sent these off yet?!! |
[Dec. 16th, 2009|03:35 am] |

Show us the Christmas/Kwanzaa/Festivus/Hannukah/Midwinter card you send out to your friends, family, lover/s, or enemy/ies. Store-bought? Handcrafted? A family photo? Or just a nice verse?
If your muse doesn't have Christmas/equivalent in their world's canon, imagine someone explained the concept of sending a holiday card out to update acquaintances on what is going on your life, and show us their version of that. |

| It's the season for giving... |
[Dec. 15th, 2009|04:19 am] |

Interpret however you like - if your mind goes to the dirty place, we won't tell!
Is it better to...
Give
or
Receive?
Bonus points: Write a story centering around giving or receiving a gift. |

| Munday- You Had Me At Hello |
[Dec. 14th, 2009|03:59 am] |

You Had Me At Hello:
As the typist/writer/mun, tell us about what exact moment made you fall in writery love with your character (if they are a canon char) and realize you had to write them -
(OR)
Tell us about the moment/realization when your original character concept popped into your head and you realized you had to write them. |

|
| RP Sunday: Step Into this magic cupboard, but bring a scarf. |
[Dec. 13th, 2009|12:34 am] |

Tonight, let's get fictional. Take a well-meaning stroll through a favorite fictional world. How can you change things just by being there? Or, instead, recast yourself as the hero and see if 'I would have done that differently!' works out as well for you as you think it will.
Please remember to include the rp tag in addition to your own character tag. Also, you never know who you'll meet. How dare they steal your story?? |
|
|
| Saturday- What would you play? |
[Dec. 12th, 2009|02:08 am] |

And now for something completely different-- if you are a musician/if you could be a musician, with your own band, of any size or genre you liked-- what songs would you choose to cover, until you made it with your own stuff? (Or maybe you'd just play covers...)
Make a playlist of the songs you'd like to perform cover versions of, whether or not you've got any 'musical aptitude' or not. Remember to cut it in case of auto-play! |
|
|
| Tis the season to get presents... |
[Dec. 11th, 2009|06:00 am] |

Give us your Christmas wish list - what do you want for Christmas? Alternately/additionally, give us a list of presents you are buying for others. |
|
|
| Thursday: Drabble! |
[Dec. 9th, 2009|11:43 pm] |
Christmas. Hanukkah. Solstice. Yule. Kwanzaa. Wookie Life Day. Whatever the culture or the world, there is probably a celebration to while away those long, lonesome nights and make the dead of winter go by a little quicker- hopefully without people killing one another.
Your mission is to write a drabble about your character's favourite custom associated with the Winter holiday they celebrate.
Or maybe they're a regular Grinch, and hate the holiday festival- in that case, write a drabble about how they avoid it, revile it, or plain try to sabotage it. |

| Lawman has put an end to my running |
[Dec. 8th, 2009|09:51 pm] |

You've been arrested. Whether it was for a real crime, or being guilty of being too beautiful, you're in the slammer.
Show us your mugshot.
As a bonus, tell us why you've been locked up. |

| Twosday: Writing everything down in a spiral notebook |
[Dec. 8th, 2009|12:10 am] |

Technology is here to stay. Everything is faster, lighter, smarter than it was five years ago, or even than it was last year. To some, though, we're moving too fast. The old is exchanged for the new with hardly a thought. In that vein, we wonder:
A. Electronic media
OR:
B. The written word ?
Note: While the question refers to books and the written word, please feel free to answer about any other form of media you find applicable. |
|
|
| Let's begin at the beginning, where all good beginnings begin. |
[Dec. 7th, 2009|02:10 am] |

Think about your character's backstory and answer as many of the following questions as you like:
1) How much of the character's backstory did you know when you started to play them?
2) How specific or vague do you tend to make a character's background? Why?
3) What purpose do you feel backstory serves?
4) What have you learned from your character's backstory?
5) Is it difficult to play with a character who has little/no backstory? Why or why not?
6) For canon characters: How do you fill in the gaps canon leaves in your character's backstory? How do you explain to those unfamiliar with your canon what a character's backstory is?
7) For original characters: How much world building do you do in your character's backstory? Do you establish an entire family / community society in the process of telling your character's history?
8) How much research / work have you put into your character's backstory so far? Are you finished, or is it an ongoing process?
Bonus points: Work on your backstory by creating a timeline of events that shaped your character's life. If you already did the timeline prompt from way back when, now's a perfect time to update it. |
