| Silence |
[Nov. 29th, 2009|01:36 pm] |
Valentine is curled up on his favorite couch in the interdimensional cafe, couch blanket pulled down around him and a pile of tissues in front of him. A miserable sore throat has turned into laryngitis, and Val finds he can't functionally speak at all. Unhappy boy is unhappy. His first cold of the season, and it's gone and turned itself into something nasty.
He's sure he should probably go and see the doctor, but he won't have office hours until evening (the hazards of seeing a vampire physician). So he's lurking in his customary place, considering the bar with a mournful look as he thinks about how to get himself a drink. Can't communicate with the barista without speaking after all.
Fortunately, he's also got a notepad and paper, and he writes up a little sign to prop in front of him.
NEED BEVERAGE. CANT ORDER. SEND HELP.
Of course, he could have just got up and brought a note with his order to the bar - but he didn't feel particularly mobile right now.
((Open to anyone! Takes place some time during the winter cold season. Val's a college-age human boy sans powers of any sort; for physical description /more information see the first entry of his journal)) |

| [Sunday] Silence is golden...or is it? (open) |
[Nov. 29th, 2009|01:37 am] |
Sarah Jane is seated in a chair in the loft, tapping her notepad with a pen. She stops to write for a moment, then resumes, completely silent and looking a bit miffed. |

| RP Sunday: Sense To The Senseless |
[Nov. 29th, 2009|12:41 am] |

Tonight, deprive yourself of one (or more!) major senses. For at least a day, go without a major sense. How do you compensate? How do other people treat you? How do you react to people wanting to help? How do you react to people wanting to take advantage? Think about these sorts of questions while you take yourself out into the world.
Please be sure to use the 'rp' tag in addition to your regular character tag. |

| Sing me to Sleep... (reprise) |
[Nov. 29th, 2009|12:37 am] |
It's a 17 song message about living and dying and what happens after that, so you know... a bit lengthy. Under the cut is a playlist, and there are partial lyrics- the relevant ones. I think the story tells itself especially if you know me well, but if you want explanation on any of them, just ask.
(( OOC note: To read about how Valentine is likely to die, see Sing me to Sleep , three drabbles featuring Val dying. They're connected by the phrase 'sing me to sleep' which features in the song Asleep, by the Smiths, in this playist.))
( Listen to the songs and read partial lyrics below the cut... ) |

| Reflections |
[Nov. 28th, 2009|03:38 pm] |
When you look in the mirror, what do you see? Show us a picture that reflects your self-image.
The most important thing about a mirror is that it reflects what is actually there, and it reflects YOU. What you interpret that as being? Well, that can be a delusion, can't it? I've looked in the mirror when it was smeared with powder, and that can distort everything. Once I got past all of that, I found I was really able to view myself in a more realistic manner.
When other people see me, they see blonde hair, big boobs and my famous, insured, fifty inch legs. Those are real. But I've stopped staring at my face, looking for lines or shadows. I just use the mirror as a tool to get ready.
I think it's just healthier.

| Music That Lives On |
[Nov. 28th, 2009|03:06 pm] |
After I'm dead, I suppose that there are just three songs that I would leave behind, songs that I would want people to think about.
1. All You Need Is Love - The Beatles ( Read more... )
2. Be Good to Yourself - Journey ( Read more... )
3. My Way - Frank Sinatra ( Read more... )
Pretty simple, I think. But then, when you're gone, you don't want to overload it. |

6.)Setting fires and controlling the fire--making it dance.
7.) Snacking.
8.) Seeing if I can play songs by dialing random numbers on the library phone. (Manged jingle-bells yesterday.) |
