Opal and I were chatting about detergents and cleaners for different stuff, when I do redwork embroidery I use this stuff to keep the red dyes from turning the white background pink http://www.watkinsonline.com/productDetail.cfm?product=2090

This a link for Watkins that I found online, NAYYY

10/28/06 04:29 pm - [info]opals - Cinderella Competition

I found this really interestig competition over at Purlescence. So far I can't think of anything besides a ballroom gown as a project for Cinderella to knit. Hopefully I can think of other things once I get more rest. I just though this was an incredibly nifty idea.

3/17/06 12:55 pm - [info]knitting_kitten - New Stoke On Trent Knitting Group, England

This has been cross posted, sorry if you've read it a hundred times!

I'm trying to get a new knitting group started in Stoke On Trent because there are loads of knitters around here and I'd love to meet them as well as hopefully teaching new people the craft. The first meeting is on Saturday 25th March in the cafe at the Potteries Museum and Art Gallery, Hanley, at 2pm until 4pm-ish. I'm hoping to meet on atleast the last Saturday of every month depending on how it goes.

For directions or more details contact me at knittingkitten@hotmail.co.uk

6/11/05 09:28 pm - [info]akamaiknitter - crocheted skirt

I love this Spider Skirt. I'm wondering how that would look on my figure. I've never really worn a knitted or crocheted skirt. Any comments?

5/22/05 05:46 pm - [info]chromegrrrl - the stash challenge--

Your mission should you choose to accept it is to make a stash storage solution from anything found in your stash. You may not have SeX for this challenge, you can only use pre-existing stash fibers and/or yarns currently in your stash (although you may have SeX for hooks, bobbins, shuttles, knitting needles, etc and notions.) The idea is to weave, knit, macrame, crochet, felt, sew or otherwise assemble something to store or display fibery stash stuff in a practical and/or artful way and to have it completed (or nearly completed) with pictures in three weeks (June 12th) from today.

I don't have any prizes planned, but taking the challenge should be a reward enough ;)

Oh yeah, don't forget to post in progress pics.

5/19/05 11:36 am - [info]akamaiknitter - honest opinions

I would love some honest opinions about how you all like the way these yarns are spun and what you think of the colour combinations.

This is in reference to a post on [info]spinningfiber about a particular hat. I got a bit flamed there, but all is good. I'm just wondering if people really do like that type of yarn.

5/18/05 01:43 am - [info]akamaiknitter - Art Yarns

The yarns at Midnight Sky Fibers are what I consider to be truly lovely art yarn. Something with which to create beauiful art and the yarn itself is a piece of art, especially Eye. (The green with black ribbon.)

Yes, I have my eye on eye. I love that poison green an the way she overtwists the yarn into delightful curls.
