Is it legal to keep an opossum as a pet?

I know that's a ferret, I'm just curious.

I think they are... although I don't know why you would want one as a pet...

we just had a sighting from a neighbor, but they didn't catch him (they didn't realize right away that he was a pet). If someone finds him please call.

Keeping most North American wild animals as pets is illegal or restricted in most states (not sure of Illinois' specific laws).

Thanks for the well wishes! We found him about two blocks away around 2 this afternoon. Not much worse for the wear, just a little hungry and a little dirty.

Well I'm glad you found him too. Bueller (my ferret) was lost once as well. He was in the backyard...usually he's more adventurous than that...
