Does anyone know a good place to buy Lebkuchen in Chambana? I don't drive, so it needs to be somewhere I can get to by bike or bus.

Hello, I have caught the running bug recently. I was trying to find a calendar of local events. I found the second wind running club calendar and was wondering if there are any others that people know if, many thanks. :)

If you like to bike around town and want to help donate food to the Eastern Illinois Food Bank, then check out Chambana Cranksgiving
(more info in the Facebook event too)

(I'm not one of the organizers, I just did it last year and had a lot of fun. Looks like it's going to be great weather for biking today too!)

Hey guys,

I checked memories, but just found an entry from a year and a half ago and thought I would see if anyone had anything more recent or any other recommendations.

Any good experiences with chiropractors in the area? It's for someone with major lower back pain, no experience with chiropractors and no insurance, so reasonable pricing would be good and personal experiences with good customer service would be nice.

Thanks for any help!

Any idea of local organizations that accept donated vehicles?  I don't want to repair the current problem (transmission) but am not comfortable junking the car (2000 subaru).  A friend suggested Parkland.  I've seen other ads from non-profits, but don't know if anyone will deal with a car that needs repairs.

Any input will be appreciated.

I am in need of a contact lens exam, and I've checked the memories and I've made some phone calls and it appears Sam's Club is the cheapest in town. However, I don't have a Sam's Club membership, and I don't want to pay $40 just to be able to have an eye exam. Does anyone know anything about a visitor's pass (and if I should be able to use that for the eye exam), or anywhere in town that doesn't require a membership and their eye exam fee is cheap? It has to be for contact lenses. And Walmart is more expensive than Sam's Club.

I would like to start a pretty population-specific writing group. Which is to say, I'm trying to find other fanfic writers in the area. Ideally, what I'm looking for is a group that can get together, talk about writing, talk about source text interpretation, really anything we want. I don't want it being fandom specific, but I do want the people who join to be open to all types of fanfic and fan construction.

Anybody have any ideas about where would be a good place to advertise? Is there anyone on here who's in either the English dept or Media Studies Dept at the Uni and would have some ideas? Are there good coffee shops for this sort of thing? Would the CU Library be a good place?

Any help you could give would be awesome, thanks.

I just became mama to a black lab puppy. I was wondering who's your vet? I'm not sure where to take him.

I looked through the memories and didn't see anything - can anyone advise on who to call about assessing, possibly repairing a leaky window or roof? (the leak is at a window, but I don't know if it's actually the roof that's the problem). Recommendations would be much appreciated.

Thanks!!

Hiii. So where do I go to get my eyebrows done around here? I checked the memories, but the last entry on that was in 2005, and things change n' stuff.

If you’re a lover of delightfully oddball music with an vintage creepy carnival feel and lyrics probing the slimy, murky depths of the old world and Middle America, you either already love Piñataland, or you’ve not heard of them and would enjoy the screaming victrola hell out of them.

With a mutating and polymorphous rotating ensemble of musicians strumming and blowing instruments from pedal steel guitars to tubas to violins to banjos, this Brooklyn-born troupe has authored several albums, including Songs For the Forgotten Future, Volumes 1 &2 and the upcoming Boy Scouts of Democracy.

They’ve performed for the notorious WFMU in Jersey, on Coney Island and even Riker’s Island (nothin’s says lovin’ like prison playin’) as well as a multimedia piece, performed at NYC’s HERE Arts Center. They’re weird and made of awesome sauce. Founding member Dave Wechsler is embarking on a tour, starting right here in Champaign.

Tonight. You should come. Bring your friends. Show up sauced, if that’s your thing.
From the press release:

The Tyranny of Dave Tour

Join Dave for his all café tour through the midwest playing songs from the new album The Decline of America Part One: The Bush Years. At all shows, you can get a free CD burned to order of your five favorite songs at the show. Just ask Dave after the show. On Wednesday, October 21st the carnage begins at the Aroma Cafe in Champaign, Illinois as part of their music maker series.

This is a like new laptop. Purchased around 1 year ago from overstock. It has warranty information with it. I'm not sure if it's still in warranty. The wireless card does not work however. If you are willing to ship it to warranty, they should replace it for free though. I read that this model is replaceable. Call them to ask about that. Besides that, it has a good video card, network adapter, etc. Very fast too.

Please contact me at alex_perelet@yahoo.com for information on how to buy this product. Or comment here, or even call me (get my number from my e-mail please.)

Ask for photos.

OK, boys and girls... it's my birthday today!

So, what are the places in town that will give me free stuff just 'cause I'm old? :)

Also, what are good places to get pedicures and Brazilian waxing done?

If you are looking for a haunted house in Champaign I recommend Chambers of the Dead. It opens tonight in the Village at The Crossing in the old ACE Hardware building near the intersection of Windsor and Duncan. Tickets are $7 and proceeds go to the American Cancer Society! So a good scare for a good cause! If you can't make it tonight it's also running October 16,17, 23,24 30,31
Please spread the word.

I checked through the memories, and didn't see anything about these people specifically.  I'm wondering if anyone has any horror/good stories about renting from them.  I've got the tennant's union page on another tab and will be calling them shortly, but would also like any input you people have.  Thanks!

What's going to be put in its place? Anyone know? Thanks!

I know it's been a while since the last post in the [info]illini_rderby community, but I didn't know of its existence until just today when a friend clued me in. While I'm a guy, I've really been taken in by the concept of the roller derby universe and think it's rather lame that Madison can have two entire teams, while down here in Shampoo-Banana we can't even organize a single one, and preferably, I'd like to be part of a co-ed league, but could settle for helping organize/manage in some fashion or another.

Now, I'd like to get this ball rolling again. What's the hand count for people watching this comm or just visiting who'd be interested in a) being part of a team and/or b) helping start a team from the ground up and keeping it organized? I'm harassing my friends about this, too.

Of course, I'm not the most knowledgeable about the sport still, but definitely willing to learn whatever I can to help with getting this rolling (two drums and a cymbal...), including how we'd organize and get working with other teams and leagues.

Let me know here, or over in the interest thread.

-Brian
