What Is It?

cg_contest is a Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion based fic community, centering on challenging writers with weekly prompts and then having the members of the community vote for their favorite stories.

How It Works

Every week on Tuesday, a new prompt will be posted. You have from then until Monday of the following week to write a fic and submit it to the comm. A screened voting post will be created on Saturday and you will have the chance to vote for your favorite fic. In a week where there is more than five submissions, you will be able to vote for your three favorite fics. The winner(s) will be posted on Tuesday.

In addition, on occasion, if a mod feels that a fic deserves its own recognition, we may award a “Moderator’s Choice” award to a fic of our choosing.

Rules

#1. Be polite. No one’s perfect, and just because you don’t like something or someone, doesn’t mean you have to be a dick about it. Constructive criticism is good, but know when it crosses the line between criticism and outright insults. Flames will be deleted. Repeat offenders will be banned. We’re all here to have fun people.

#2. Please only post contest submissions to the community. Ads of other comms or non-contest fics are not permitted and will be deleted. If you’d like to affiliate, feel free to contact the mods.

#3. All entries must include the week # and prompt in the header, as well as the following

Genre:
Characters/Pairings:

Also, lj-cut your posts for the love of baby Jesus, unless you’re just linking back to your own writing comm. But make sure we know that fic is written for this comm if you do.

#4. All submissions must be written in that week. It’s not fair to others if a contest entry just happens to link to your epic work that you wrote three months ago when they only have a few days to write.

#5. All manners of pairings, characters, genres or ratings are allowed. You can write yuri porn or you can write the most G-rated het material on the planet. Your choice.

#6. Yes, you can vote for yourself. No, you may not have everyone on your f-list, your flunkies at a forum, or any other kind of personal army spam this comm to help you win. We’re not stupid- we’ll figure it out, and you’ll be getting a one way ticket to meet the banhammer.

#7. Interpret the themes as loosely or as strictly as you like. Who do you think we are, your mommy? We’re not gonna tell you what’s right or what’s wrong, unless it’s really, blatantly wrong.

#8. keiosu’s personal rule- HAVE SOME FUCKING FUN WITH THE PROMPTS. Again, just try to have some connection with the week's theme.
