Community Profile

Once upon a time, childfree was a good place. Then the PC team took over, and a lot of people fled to cf_hardcore. No one was willing to fight the PC team, and cf_h was temporarily lacking a mod. So to cut down on wank, we figured what was needed was a CF community that was moderated. Specifically, a moderated community for those who don't want to have to be PC. Also, this community will be closed off to parents. We're sorry. Even if you are supportive of us, right now a lot of the ones wanting to get away are needing a break from the parents. Maybe once things calm down we can open it up to supportive parents who also keep in mind that we aren't here to discuss your kids, and if we wanted to discuss your kids we'd join you in a parenting group. If the problem is that you cannot find any parenting groups that aren't full of idiots, look into realisticparent. We hear they are a VERY good group.

For those who don't know what childfree is, apparently it means different things to different people. For those of us here, a childfree person is someone completely free of children/offspring. We don't want them, we don't make them, we don't rear them, etc. Some of us don't mind them, some even like or love them, but some of us also hate them. Those who hate them are allowed to express so without being attacked, and we'll defend your right to speak in a positive manner about the kids you know so long as you don't use it as a way to guilt/attack those who don't share your feelings. We're not here to be fluffy or happy for anyone. We're here to rant, discuss issues, etc relating to being childfree, and sometimes yes, this includes the right to abortion.

I'm going to slowly build some rules. Here's some rules:
1: Don't go finding parenting communities and shit, then post links to the crap here. We're childfree. We don't care. We don't want to see that crap.

2: Don't go finding pics of pregnant women, breastfeeding women, etc, then reposting it here. We are childfree. We don't care. We don't want to see that crap. Besides, it's silly to repost such things going, "OMG EWW!" If you don't want to see it, neither do we obviously.

3: Did you give birth in the past but immediately give the offspring up for adoption? In a few childfree comm's that's an instant ban if you are found out at all. Here, we still include you under the banner of childfree, even if you aren't so in the strictest sense of the word. We only have one major rule regarding this: YOU ARE NOT TO BRING THE MATTER UP IN HERE. Sorry, but... well, for the most part we just don't care. Those who do care can easily see the subject in your personal LJ if you wish to post about it. It's just that moping on and on about you "son/daughter" that you "lost" isn't very childfree.

4: We're not going to tolerate any drama-mongering. It'd be pointless in this comm. anyway considering everything is friends-only. Leave the stupid crap to your own personal LJ's. First instance will get you moderated. Second will get you banned for 3 months. Third strike, you're out.

5: If at any point you decide, "Arg, I hate this community, everything about it should change to suit ME!!!", get over yourself. You aren't that special. There's MANY other childfree groups, and one of them is certain to be what you are seeking. If you cannot find one that fits your narrow idea of how things should be run, then create one with your ideals! Just LEAVE. Staying here, then bitching about how much you hate the community and it should change will only result in a prompt banning. I cannot stand that kind of pansy crap. When I decide I don't like a community, I leave. I don't demand they change their rules or ways for me. To do so would be immaturity of the highest degree.
