Sophie Aldred, Brandon Routh, James Marsters and Charisma Carpenter
I went to the Collectormania convention at Milton Keynes in England this weekend and met some very cool people.
The first person I met on Saturday was Sophie Aldred, who was there with the SFX magazine people. She was very nice. I told her that Ace was my favourite DW companion and she said the same, LOL. She asked me my name and personalised a cool picture of the Seventh Doctor and Ace, and was happy to pose for a photo with me in front of the TARDIS prop. Classy lady, was great to meet the first DW companion I remember seeing on TV.

I then met Brandon Routh sometime before lunch. He was a real sweetheart. Took interest in what I had to say and I felt so at ease with him. I told him that I'd grown up watching the Chris Reeve movies and that I've loved Superman since forever, and he said "I'm glad to hear that"...I told him about the time I dressed up as Supergirl for a school fancy dress contest when I was six and he asked me "Did you win?" and when I said no he was like "aw". He wrote "To Charlie, best, Brandon" on my photo with a little smiley face. Superman is super cute! :P

On Sunday I arrived at the centre at 6:00am and was first in line for the James Marsters line. Yeah, baby! Inside there was over an hour's wait for James but he turned up on time. It was a bit of a shock when he was suddenly walking past me in the line to get to his table. I was the first person of the day to meet him and he was amazing. He asked "have I met you before?", sure that he had, but he hadn't, and I told him that I'd come here to see him. I'd watched the Tabula Rasa episode of Buffy a couple of days before so I said how much I love that episode, and James said they all had so much fun filming it. I asked him what his favourite episode was and he said "the musical one", which makes sense given that he's a singer. I was so into talking to him that I forgot to take a photo (damn!), but he was wonderful. I got two handshakes, one when I first went up to the table and one as I left. Great, great guy. Too busy a guest to personalise photos or pose with you at the table, but I couldn't have been happier with our meeting.
Chrisma Carpenter's line was rushed through so fast that meeting her was a bit of a blink-and-miss experience, but she was very nice to me...I told her that I thought it was great how Cordelia developed as a character in Angel and she agreed. I asked her politely if she'd mind if I took a picture of her, and she was more than happy to oblige, so I got a very pretty shot of her smiling up at the camera. I thought she was nice, it's too bad it was all so rushed. I've seen a lot of people complaining that she wasn't very warm and came across as very fake and false, but I had no problems with her at all.
