MusicDish Network Brings The News To Waveform Media

    Hey music fans!

MusicDish LLC, publisher of leading music magazines MusicDish and Music Industry News Network (Mi2N), announced a partnership with Atlanta-based Waveform Media, a music business directory publisher that operates a resource music site for musicians.

Under the partnership, MusicDish has developed a white label newswire for the Waveform Media site, featuring coverage of the indie music scene as well as search, news submission and RSS functionalities. My dad bought me a bunch of stuff from Hot Topic while he was in the states, because being a father, he is musically ignorant. Since I am obviously not into the aforementioned bands, I'd like to make some money off of this.
I have an AFI messenger bag, and a taking back sunday shirt in a youth large. The shirt is white, with a microphone looped several times around the neck.
It has the tags on and everything, and is in the Hot Topic bag it came in.

The tag on the bag said $35 US, and the shirt was $17 US.

Give me a fair offer for both, I will not refuse anything reasonable.
I can meet you pretty much at any subway stop, or any viva stop on Yonge.

    Thanks a lot..

Being There Magazine’s October Update Now Online
TORONTO, October 11, 2006 - With pumpkins popping up on porches and the leaves beginning to fall, new music has been arriving thick and fast at Being There HQ, great acts have been gearing up for tours around the country and summer blockbuster season has given way to Oscar hopefuls. We love this time of year. In fact, with all that’s been happening, our staff has almost more than it can handle at the moment. That’s why, in anticipation of the November issue, which is well underway, we’ve brought you an October update (www.beingtheremag.com) chock full of new, oven-fresh reviews and features.

    New October content includes:

    • A fine batch of live concert reviews, including the Dirty Dozen Brass Band Massive Attack, M. Ward, Silver Jews and Sufjan Stevens
    • Brand spanking new album reviews, including the latest from Pernice Brothers, Susanna & the Magical Orchestra and TV on the Radio
    • A big shot of cinema, including film reviews of The Black Dahlia and Stranger Than Fiction, as well as a heaping helping of movies from this year’s Toronto International Film Festival, including Paris Je T’aime, For Your Consideration, Lake of Fire, The Italian and Summercamp!
    • A look at the season two DVD edition of a series we are loving at the moment, The Office (U.S. version)

Naturally, Zayne and Mike also return in October with the latest installment of “I Wanna See the Nashville Lights”, their twisted little slice of Southern Gothic looniness. Our rapidly growing editorial staff also provide readers with their personal cultural picks in our regular “9x5” column.

October will also see Being There wrap up its special Bicycles contest, with three lucky winners chosen to receive a CD copy of the group's highly anticipated debut album, The Good, the Bad and the Cuddly. Winners will be randomly selected from the Being There mailing list, so all those who sign up will be automatically entered.

Finally, be sure to bookmark our blog (www.beingtheremag.com/blog) or surf over to our MySpace page (http://profile.myspace.com/beingtheremag) to drop us a line and let us know what you think.

    About Being There Magazine
Founded in 2004, Being There is an online music, film and culture magazine that rides the fringe between mainstream popular culture and alternative or unheralded work. Past issues have focused on both iconic artists such as U2 and Paul McCartney and relative unknowns such as Toronto singer-songwriter David Celia and Austin, Texas’ Bigamy Sisters. Being There strives to promote music and culture with depth, integrity and intelligence. Recent interviews include singer-songwriters Sufjan Stevens, Michael Penn, Robbie Fulks and Jolie Holland, comedians Patton Oswalt, Lewis Black and Greg Proops, and legendary figures such as Tommy Smothers, Colin Blunstone of The Zombies and Kinky Friedman.

    The Dears at Harbourfront?
So I know The Dears played a free show at the Harbourfront on July 1st. But I could swear they're playing again on Tuesday (August 1st). Does anyone know anything about this? When, where, etc? I can't find any details anywhere.

    Thank you!

    bright eyes
I have 3 Bright Eyes tickets to sell for June 14th, at 7:45pm in Toronto at Massy Hall. They are really good seats - I think they are like eighth row or something like that.

The seats are Row G, Seats 12, 13, 14. You can check out where that is at:
    http://www.langestickethangar.com/masseyHall.htm

I am asking $50 for each ticket, and I think the show is sold out. Please take them off my hands!

    Great Community
Just discovered this community - thought you folks might be interested in Being There Magazine, a Toronto-based music & film mag....this issue we had a few articles on Canadian musicians you might want to check out... Our cover story this month was an interview with David Celia, a good friend to Being There and very talented Toronto-based singer-songwriter. Also we've got Getting to Know Todd Rundgren - a good introduction to a great Canadian musician.

Enjoy! Any feedback is always welcome :)
