APOLOGY and REQUEST

I am truly sorry. There has been great difficulty recently in real life, some of which concerns deaths in the family. I'll not go into detail here, I don't want to make anyone too uncomfortable. However, I am requesting that someone else take over as mod for me for this community. If anyone is interested, please comment. Comments wil be screened of course. Please list any previous experience be it as simple as entering contests, other mod positions, or banner making, anything of note.

I'm very sorry again. It has literally taken me this long to get to this community and the others from my own, having relocated.

There have been questions concerning critiques and the scheduling.

Critiques: will be given to those who requested them each time a new round comes up for voting.
Submissions Scheduling: we are OFF a week because the particicpation was so lacking last week. Maybe some couldn't get to a computer, busy, etc, etc. And by that I mean, most people did not even comment with a 'bye' so feather and I decided to extend for a week. Not 'typical' in a LIMS but it was necessary unless you basically wanted two entries for 'STY;E/ FASHION'.

Your icon must:

x be lj-compatible
x must be FRESH, as in newly made for this round/icontest/ you get it, right? duh.
x be submitted by the 9th of September, that's next Saturday!
x be related to style, fashion, clothes, accessories, etc....if you're not sure, link me an image you want to use and comment here asking before you go through the trouble to make an icon of it....don't want anyone disqualified because they weren't sure, or something
x be submitted with the actual icon AND a WORKING URL

Sorry for the delay but there has been some discrepancy in VOTING, which is to say, cheating. It really messed things up so it's taken me a bit to sort it out and also make sure, and then ban, and so forth. So results up tonight. I'm truly sorry this threw us off schedule, but better to catch it now than later on in the competition yes?

I figured this was a given but PLEASE, for goodness sake, don't use multiple accounts, etc, etc, to vote for yourself or your friend, etc, etc.

Thanks for your patience and all should be squared away within the next 24 hours.

For example:

Yes: number? has a nice sense of balance and the image is clear, definitely my favorite of the batch
No: number? has a nice choice of text but the size of the words blocks the image...cropping is a little awkward too.

You have until Saturday at midnight to vote. Remember, everyone may vote, not just the participants. Please take a second to do so, that way it's as fair as possible!

But here's the submission post early :) for anyone who's extra excited. AND banners for last Challenge are not forgotten, but we want them extra pretty [not regular banners, yeah?] so a bit longer on those.

Anyways, on with it: Challenge 2: Round 1: Colourization

Your icon must:

x be lj-compatible
x must be FRESH, as in newly made for this round/icontest/ you get it, right? duh.
x be submitted by the 23 of August, that's next Wednesday!
x be only partially colourized....for example, all of the icon might be black and white EXCEPT the eyes....or shirt...or whatever...got it?
x be submitted with the actual icon AND a WORKING URL

Okay, so based on votes cast by the community, more people want to wait a bit. But since it's so very close, here's what we're going to do.

I am going to have an icon post soon in which I'll once again pimp this community. After the post is made I'll give it a week. Then, when a week is up, regardless of whether or not we have more, we will begin the second CHALLENGE!

Okay so I had a LONG talk with Raine and she said if we get a POSITIVE comment from each person who has signed up so far on the sign up list, we'll start if you want. This is basically a vote. If you're signed up and want to just go ahead with 11 participants, comment with 'YEAH DO EET' ....or something :P

If you want to wait for a couple more (not necessarily 20, but say, 15) then comment with 'let's wait, a little longer' or something.

Everyone praise your last icon maker standing and now an important question, should we do another challenge? The whole thing? Because, I'm not sure how active this place is anymore, but if enough people comment and say they'd like to see another challenge, so they can participate, we will have one and it will be much more consistent, and that one EACH participant will get a banner.

If yes, we'll want a minimum of 20. Though if it's 19, we're not biting any heads or nothin! ;) Still, you see that's a bit of an ambitious desire, we know. Okay, so we had the results yesterday and decided to put them up today, this way we can all be on a normal schedule for once :)

Again all the entries this past week were fantastic. Thank you all sooo much :D You're wonderful! I couldn't have chosen between them frankly so I'm glad I mod :P

Anywho um, no peers' choice since all who voted voted for a different one each, however this week, I'm sad to say leaving us will be:

It was a gorgeous/is a gorgeous icon and again, picking is hard with so few icons left, it really puts it down to nitpicking so we can safely say all icons were lovely. Thank you to all and to dragons_desire, you've had a fantastic run, and if memory serves, you've gotten peer's choice at least twice *blinks and tries to remember* anyways, thanks again.
