Comments: SO, UM. Remember how I started that genfic a while back? Turnabout Election? And it was...sort of interesting? Well, I was thinking to myself, "I'd like to do a couple of these, because it's good plot-practice even if it is only sort of interesting." So I started this one as a sequel to TE. And then liked this one way better than TE. So, sorry to those who liked the original story, 'cause you'll have to wait longer, I guess - TE is still planned as the second one in the series. So, with some degree of further ado, I present this still only sort of interesting fic that will get v. v. melodramatic later on.
Summary: An uncooperative defendant, a mysterious victim, and some shady witnesses combine to make what should be a simple trial very complicated very fast.

Comments: Sometimes, a girl writes enormously long, plotty genfic for a relatively obscure fandom featuring a great number of original characters, entirely in a genre with which she is unfamiliar. Sometimes, a girl is also a masochist. These days coincide.
Summary: Phoenix is called upon to defend no less than the mayor himself.
