What was the first music album you ever bought or owned? Do you still listen to it or have you moved on?

The Thoroughbred of Sin? I vote for Whedon.
1)Dear Gareth,
Do not post online that you would like for people to buy you pink hot pants and then chuck them at you. Because some people (like me) will find this incredibly amusing but then start to wonder where to buy pink hot pants and how much they cost. And then some people (like me) will start researching pink hot pants online causing their co-workers to look at them funny. And some people (NOT me) will go as far as to purchase said hot pants and bring them along when they meet you. And come the day of your next gig, some people (really, NOT me) will throw said hot pants on stage. Then you’ll be the proud owner of thirty or so pairs of man-sized hot pants and have to give them to John for Christmas absolutely nothing to do with them.

Love and Kisses,
Beth

2)SO yes, I've returned from my grand Canadian adventure. In fact, I was so busy getting ready for said adventure that I never told some of you that I left. So I have left for and returned from my grand Canadian adventure. I'm working on a detailed post (which I need photos for, ahem) because damn. That was probably the best weekend I've ever had. Besides all the times I ran into or talked to Gareth (once while I was in my pajamas) and seeing John up close (so pretty) it was just a fantastically fun weekend. This marks the end of my super busy couple of weeks which means that I will actually make it back online now a days. Thanks for sticking with me even though I was a horrible friend to all of you.

3) My sister on why she just can't get into Torchwood:
I mean Jack is such a stupid face sometimes. Why did he let that lady on the team? She’s so stupid and I hate her. I hate her every episode. She can’t even kick people in the face. She like, ‘Oh no! It’s a thing, what do I- ahhh!’ She can’t kick them in the face! She’s like, ‘I’ll just kick them in the shin, maybe that will work.’ Where as Ianto is like, ‘Wa-Bam! I make the coffee and kick the ass!’
4) Hello new people! If added everyone who added me in the few days. Although I'm not going to lie, I'm confused about exactly which of you is which. If those who don't have their name in their profile want to give me a hint, it would save me some embarrassment.

In Which...Thank God it's Friday...

Man this is really late this week. I've been lazy today and distracted. I purchased and downloaded the ID Heretic/Hexen package over on Steam and have been kicking it old-school FPS style. I always prefered Heretic to Doom for much the same reason I prefer the first Quake to the rest of the series. I just like the more supernatural monster aspect without the over-riding military theme. It's not there at all in Heretic and in the first Quake it's there but you loose more and more of it as you progress further onto the home-world. While there are "monsters" in the Doom series its just not the same. Playing Heretic has made me all giddy and happy. Back before the internet I spent a good majority of my time playing it. Ah the good ol' days. I never had Hexen so it's been intersting and kind of confusing playing it but still fun. Eventually I'll download the first Quake too but not for a while probably.

Anyway...I survived my first full week. I won't whine about it since I know people out there are working 50-hour weeks and/or two jobs and it's just a matter of getting used to it again so yeah...no whining. Even though I know I'll sleep hard and good tonight.

No real plans for this weekend. Have to clean the living room but beyond that nothing much but reading, playing games and hopefully doing some writing when I'm not half asleep as I have been all week.

Speaking of reading I managed to finish The Name of the Wind...so awesome and yeah not a nice spot to end it but I should manage to hold out until the second part is out in paperback...even though I don't think it'll be out for a year...or so...

Also speaking of reading toady marks my 200th day of my reading project and I mark if by not doing my half hour of reading... Oy...actually I'll probably sneak it in after I'm done with this post. I've included a list of everything I've read in those 200 days underneath the cut.

The more you find out about the world, the more opportunities there are to laugh at it.
I still don't have my internet back at my flat. But the semester break started today, so I'm back home at my parents house.. I can finally go online again! *yay*

Not much to say about the last three weeks. I was basically studying for my exams from morning to night.
Oh, and we were finally able to get our tickets for Hamlet!!!! *bounces* Well, I only managed to secure us seats in row V. But at least we're down in the stalls and not all the way up on the balcony or something. And all 5 of us are sitting together.
I just checked the ticket-prices on ebay again.. they're all bloody mad!! There are tickets for a couple of hundred GBP. And people are actually buying those.. It's unbelievable.

And since I have too much money *coughs* I'm going camping in Kassel next week. Don't know yet how long though. Because it looks like there's only room in a tent for me for two nights. The other two I'll either have to squeeze in in one of the other tents or sleep in my car drive home early. And on Thursday I'll go and watch the new X Files movie with about 40 other fans. *wohoo* That's going to be one hell of a crazy night.

Btw.. I'm only two episodes away from finishing my 500 episodes in one year-challenge.. after not even 7 months. *lol* Damn.. I watch too much stuff..

Oh, I just noticed I got tagged by [info]miffmiff, because she thinks I have too much time on my hands.. *coughs* Sure, why not.

I am livid!
My brand new, only 2 months old computer has gone kaput on me. Some kind of hard drive failure, a SMART error, whatever the fuck that is! I am so annoyed right now. Stupid motherfucking Dell, I knew that going with them was a bad idea. I fucking knew it!

Here I am on my old laptop that takes forever to load and heats up way too fast for my liking. At least I have it but Jesus H, what the hell!

So...
Back to work tonight. First night in 8 weeks.

Nooo idea how things are, there. Same family, fewer hours.

And still night shift. Which, you know. If you can get your sleep, good. If not- but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

Walked up to the farmer's market yesterday, got veg and fruit and had a nice walk. All in all things go well, health-wise. Which is good. Because---

To continue my health insurance coverage with COBRA- $495 a month. Let's see. at $20.70 an hour, x 24 hours, - taxes etc. ... rent, food, gas, car insurance... hmmm.

hmm....

O.o Makes you wonder don't it? stay healty, save your money.

But the agency's looking around for more hours for me, so. Not so bad. Could be worse. With more hours I'd get benefits- still have to pay for them, but only $300/mo. Which, you know. Not fun, but do-able. so.

OK. naptime. catch you on the flipside.

Happier news on the home front
I can't post long, but I'm so thrilled to be able to post guardedly good news.

The x-rays came back clear, they can't find any blockage, so they're allowing Papa food by mouth again. For the first time in an effing WEEK. Today was just clear liquids, but tomorrow he'll get solid food.

He was more lucid today -- made kissyface at Mama and at me when he noticed we were in the room, and eagerly opened his mouth like a baby bird for spoonfuls of apple juice, soup, and jello.

I cannot express how happy seeing him eat has made me. I realize he's going to die, and it's going to be soon. But dammit, it wasn't today, and it might not be tomorrow either.

And now I'm late for work. Tonight's the LAST Last Play at Shea with Billy Joel, and there's question as to which special guests will show up tonight. I still think it's funny that I damned near ran down John Mellencamp in the Tunnel on Wednesday. "Hey, that guy looks like John Mellencamp..." said I as my partner and I continued on our way. Imagine my surprise when he actually went on stage! :-D

I'm sincerely hoping for Sir Paul or Sir Elton. Or both. That would be cool. Wish me a nice night, with no stupid ladies in stupid heels breaking their ankles and ruining everybody's fun. I mean sure, we're there to work. If someone gets sick or injured, we're there. But breaking one's ankle by falling off one's Manolos is totally avoidable, girls! Geez! :-)

Anyway, I'm off. Hooray for Papa! I'm so happy!

My trip to Düsseldorf was AWESOME!
I had so much fun, I learnt so much stuff, I had a bath tub in my hotel room, I met a couple of very nice people... It was great! *flappy hands*
I'm looking forward to sleeping in my own bed right now, I'm dead tired.... I'm gonna make a long post soon (including pics), but right now... naaaah....*yawns*

Did I miss anything important?

I know I missed Vinnie's aka [info]r_sambora_luvr 's birthday on Wednesday - sorry, honey, I had no internet access...happy belated birthday to you!

I'm off to bed now. *hugs flist, grabs teddy bear and wanders off into the sunset*

DJ Awesome Todd
This is the audition video that my brother Dustin sent in to FOX. He was actually cast in a sit-com about three karaoke DJs and my brother was DJ Awesome Todd, a karaoke DJ obsessed with the 80s. In the pilot episode, my brother was to sing a duet with Pamela Anderson. Unfortunately, FOX decided against the show.

I have heard from my male PhD friend who does Chemistry that is you shave it shows that you aren't working hard enough. Though this doesn't seem to sound if you have to do something to look smart.

Also must not give in. Must not must not. Would have before but not now...it's no fun. No no no.

Also need more industrial type music so badly. Unf.

In case my last post was to ~crypitc~ for you, what I was trying to say is this: GO SEE THE DARK KNIGHT. RIGHT NOW. DROP WHATEVER YOU'RE DOING AND HEAD TO A THEATER. THEY'RE PLAYING IT EVERYWHERE, BASICALLY EVERY TEN MINUTES! EVEN IF YOU SAW IT ALREADY GO SEE IT AGAIN. YOU KNOW IT'S WORTH THE $10 JUST FOR THAT ONE SCENE involving a pencil

I'm sorry, I still can't think clearly, all I can do is caps lockright now. SO GO SEE IT CAUSE THIS WILL BE YOU AT THE END OF THE MOVIE!

laundry day, see you there. under things...tumbling.
OH.  MY. GOODNESS. CANNOT. FUCKING. WAIT. And I'm not talking about TDK here. This is WATCHMEN!! As for a trailer that sucks? See: The Spirit

Act III, a.k.a. the final act, of Dr. Horrible at midnight!!!!!

At the time I would have normally been sitting in the Lyceum theatre tonight, watching [title of show], I instead will be listening to an audio I obtained of the second preview last week. Not anywhere near as awesome, but it'll do. :)

You know what's cool? I entered this Hellboy contest at TFAW for the heck of it, and good thing I did - for NOT winning, they gave me $5 towards a future purchase. Sweet! Thing is, there are a few things I want and I'm not sure what I should get. I'm not big on comics but there are some I've been interested in. I'll just have to base it off of what's in-stock, because the $5 can only be used for those. The Middleman is out of stock, of course. So I'm either going with Buffy or Watchmen. And I could have swore there was something else I was interested in...  Any recommendations?

Oh! I'm considering making a post tonight containing all the Neil Patrick Harris broadway-related goodies I have. Anyone interested??

Now I'm gonna try to delete icons to make space for some new ones. Le sigh. Always a sad event...

Tomorrow is Jared's birthday so I intend on posting a serious motherfucker of a picspam, but alas, I will be stuck in work for the day so it won't be until the evening. So I most likely won't get to say it earlier so:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JARED PADALECKI
heh heh now that I got that off my chest I am going to have a little moan.
I almost fainted on the bus the other day, I had to breath my way through it but I was a wee bit green the whole day. I think my blood pressure must have been down from not eating properly while at Oxegen. I actually kind of forgot I have low blood pressure heh heh. I really shouldn't laugh because apparently it can be dangerous. Meh!
Fucking customers today were just mental! Children crying constantly and adults just being major pains in the ASS! You'd know there is a full moon!
I see the CW made a serious fuck up in reagrds to spoilers. Really? What the hell were they thinking? I am not a spoilerphobe but I respect the fact that others don't want to hear what is going to happen. The CW are real idjits!
There is one spoiler that I would like to discuss but I'm not gonna in this post ;)
I still have to post my "report" on Oxegen so that will most likely be the weekend too. Fucking work!

Angel is on at the mo and Mark Lutz is in it with the bikini made of coins hee hee.
