Graphics people.

Does it make a difference what order you lay color layers onto an icon? Should you go light to dark, or dark to light, or blue after red, etc? Or does it really not make a difference since you can change the opacity of any layer at any time?

Color is just not my strength, although I do remember some stuff from my art classes. However, computer graphics are a whole different ball of wax than actual graphite and paint.

I usually ignore these but I loved this one. I don't think I could pick just one lol...big cat (like panther or tiger),orca,horse,wolf...if I had to make one choice it'd be bald eagle, I've always wanted to fly. Or if extinct animals count, Quetzalcoatlus, like my icon.

If I had my preference I'd be an Animorph, like in the book series. I know it's classed as a kids' series but I'm addicted lol. It's about five teens who get the power to morph into different animals and wind up fighting a war against a race of alien slugs that are taking over people's bodies. Anyway then I could morph and morph back and do different animals at different times.

The porn battle is back! Some of you really need to go and leave SVU, Elliot/Olivia prompts for me. At the prompts post. (Prompts taken until tomorrow evening, I have no idea which time-zone, so do it NOW!) Because, really, there's nothing that says 'LONELY FANDOM' like someone submitting prompts for a porn battle and then writing their own prompts because there aren't any others. I would be willing to go submit more prompts for any pairing you'd like in exchange. ;) (Oh! Follow the rules for submitting prompts, plz! She just won't use any that are not submitted properly. This day sucked. I had to do shit work all day, and Medium was HORRID. She was pissy and in prime game-playing mode, and N took the day off and didn't tell me, so I thought I'd only be working half a day, but instead I had to work the full day and I had no LUNCH. No wonder she was acting oddly yesterday afternoon. She could have fucking told me. I wasn't mad that she took off, but now I'm mad that she just acted as if she'd be there when she knew she wasn't going to be. I know this makes NO SENSE. But it all = me being pissed off all day long. And it was hot and I had to do a lot of walking for nothing and just... I don't even want to talk about it anymore.

You guys. I'm finally almost finished with the rest of those icons you asked for in that icon meme a looooong time ago. I was only doing a few at a time, because after a while I'd either get frustrated and just quit, or else Law and Order or something would come on and... I'd quit.

I'm tired.

+ The X Files: I Want To Believe comes out tomorrow! Soooo excited! I've just spent the last two weeks marathoning the series, 8-12 eps a day approx, every day. Finished the last ep this morning before uni. Am meeting Rebecca at the cinemas at 10am (20 mins before the first session). Can't be tomorrow soon enough!! I ♥ Mulder & Scully and Doggett & Reyes so. damn. much.!! (And am hugely jealous of my cousin who went to some party for Bleak House awhile back that Gillian Anderson happened to be at!!!) :D

+ Firefly and Stargate SG-1 marathons next. Then maybe Stargate Atlantis for teh Sparky fic inspiration...

+ We have the computer back at home - no internet though. Still. It's much better than no computer. I've gotten about 60+ fics typed up to post and scatterings of incomplete fics typed as well. Backing up on my iPod every time I type something new in case the computer gets taken away again without warning. I'd die if I lost all my fic like that. But yes. Typing fic at home means when I can get online it doesn't take much for me to post. So I now have no excuse for not posting fic... Kinda.

+ Taking fic requests again, particularly for Scully/Mulder, Doggett/Reyes, DG/Cain, Mal/Inara, Sam/Cam, Daniel/Vala, Sam/Jack and Shawn/Juliet. Of course, I'll take other requests as well, but those are my preferances at the moment. ;)

+ Stargate: Continuum should be arriving in the mail within the next 2-3 weeks. It's due out early August. Yay!! :D

+ Started back at uni (part time) and have started a completely new course at TAFE (full time). They're both pretty shiny. Uni is media writing...so essentially script-writing and so on (documentaries, short films and tv series) and the TAFE course is a Cert III in Information Technology (Applications) which leads on to Web Design. Am rather concerned it'll get to be too much, but am also excited. They both sound really good so far.

+ Cold as...something really really cold!! I need gloves. (Well. I have gloves. But they're downstairs so I'm not wearing them. I really need a device that'll make them magically appear up here so I don't have to go in search for them. Of course, they'd make typing hard as hell, but hey! :P)

+ *tackle huggles* Been missing you all!! I have an LJ-related thought every day it seems... Wish I could be back on a more permanent basis.

Okay. Wow. This episode IS my favorite so far. And it's possible it will stay that way even though I haven't seen all of the eps yet. I know Burned is the big shippy ep, but this one resonated a LOT more with me. THIS is actually the sort of ep I wanted to see on Stargate. Not even necessarily Sam/Jack, but just with the team. Also, you know the Super Special Presidential Dispensation that appears in S/J fic sometimes? Yeah, this is Olivia and Elliot getting that.

( A little bit about 'Choreographed' first. Aka, the ep where Olivia comes back and Elliot is saved. )

Like so many things.

We were at Alnwick Garden today (and water fight FTW!) and Claire said something about realising just how many words of fic she's written this year so far. And I don't think she was even counting the Tremors pwp texts she randomly sends me just because she wuvs me that much and my screams are always entertaining.

And it got me thinking. So I went and added up what I'd written and posted in the first six months of this year.

( And this is what I found )

That's based on Word's word count, and it also includes all the notes etc, because I put those in the word docs and was too lazy to strip them out again to count. But even so. Given how little I've been writing over the last few years, that's bloody impressive. I think March's output alone was greater than all of 2007.

Almost 100,000 words in six months. No wonder my fingers are tired ::g::

Okay. So. Here's the thing. I know some of you are probably not all that interested in my journal anymore. That's cool. I've had a few people walk away since I started being so multi-fannish, and I get that. If you're not reading this journal anymore, please feel free to defriend.

I also renamed my fic journal. All fic I write is posted both here AND in [info]surreallis_fic, so if you're really just hanging around for Stargate fic, or House fic, or whatever, and you don't really care about my fangirl ramblings then feel free to friend THAT journal and defriend this one. Win/win! We can still keep in touch and I won't clog your flist.

My flist is actually, finally, reaching the point where it's getting difficult for me to read it entirely. I know, I know, but I actually have a lot of lurkers, and a lot of people don't post that often. It wasn't really that difficult before!

I'm not going to defriend anyone who doesn't defriend me first at this point, because I flock a lot more of my entries nowadays, and I think eventually I'll probably go Friends Only. If you want to be here, yay! Stick around, regardless of whether you comment or not. But if you're really not interested in my day-to-day shit feel free to walk away or transfer to the fic journal.

Yes, I AM still interested in Stargate. I'm just not sure how to prove that to you all since the movie isn't out yet and the series has ended. It's just more exciting to have fun with House and SVU right now. And I tend to go out of my own journal to talk about SG nowadays. I'll comment in other people's meta.
