So, today so far has kind of sucked. Woke up, had a perfectly ordinary morning until I went to brush my teeth . . . and discovered that my cat had decided to miss her litter box. All over the bathroom floor. Which I didn't notice until I went "why are my feet wet?" So that lead to having to call in and say I'd be late 'cause I had to clean up my bathroom and change my pants. Finally get into the car to head to work, and what do you know? Construction on the beltway = horrible traffic = instead of 15 minutes late to work, I'm 45 minutes late to work. Managed to pull a filling or something yesterday. Dentist says the earliest she can get me in is Monday afternoon. Thusly will I be popping pills all weekend and trying to avoid cold or hot foods. Aaaaaaaaaaaaand I end up in charge of a document at work made up of 75 pages of tax tables. Fun!

Fortunately, my flist has provided me with continuations on WIPs I've been following, distractions in the form of pretty pictures, and kroki_refur and estei having faux-wank over sea cucumbers. Resulting quite possibly in crack fic.

I love you guys. . . .

I suppose I am fic spamming a bit, but I just wrote this as a prezzie for my dear oreadno1 and...well...it's just a little drabble, so I hope it's not too much from me in one day. Enjoy!

You know what I want? I want a government that doesn't feel it has to rely on trying to incite panicked flailing (GOP) or scathing, patronizing irony (Democrats) to get its point across.

Seriously. You can give people information without saying the other party is trying to screw over the American people (GOP) or making "clever" acronyms out of the other party's name (Democrats).

Or at least learn some subtlety!

I just watched the last 2 eps of BSG from this past half-season.

Seriously, why couldn't the rest of the season have been like that? Most of the characters weren't unlikeable douchebags, and people did things that seemed both to be in their own best interests, and the best interest of the whole, you know... human race thing.

I'm really pleased with the last 2 eps here, because honestly, I was very close to giving up on this show, and with only 10 eps left!

But they have dragged me back in.

Actress Estelle Getty has passed away at the age of 84. Those of us who watched The Golden Girls (or Mannequin...) will mourn her passing. She was a talented lady who always did a great job!
