to catastrophists, potassium's mp3 rotation journal. This has moderated membership, so you'll have to apply for membership. Sorry. Also, it's a community because K is a lazy ass and hates logging out of her main account. It's named after "Modern Day Catastrophists" by Bad Religion.

In order to friend this journal and participate, I have a few rules.

&;;When friending, comment on my friends only entry and let me know how you found me. It can be through an interest search, through a friend, through me pimping this journal; whatever it is, I want to know.

&;;Do n o t even try to share the links with others. You have to a) be a member to download and b) download through the community page. For more info, read this post

&;;All of my music is in -alt-preset-stanard or -v2 and is variable bitrate, unless noted (and that means I absolutely cannot find it in better). I'm a bit of an audiophile, and I like my stuff to be cd-quality.

&;;Once you're in, you're in until you break a rule.

&;;I don't care if you keep my music on your computer, but I urge that if you like the artists whom you've downloaded to please s u p p o r t them. You can buy their albums, their merch, go to a concert, it doesn't matter. Just give them love if you like them. This is my personal policy when it comes to downloading music (that I'll support an artist if I like them), and it's the policy I'm going urge you all to follow.

&;;Whenever you download anything, c o m m e n t I like to know what's being downloaded and by whom.

&;;After you've listened to something, if you'd like to comment on it and discuss it with me, I'd love that. I'd like to know what you like and what you don't. If you really like something, I'd love to be able to steer you toward similar artists. If I can't, then Pandora.com can, for sure.

&;;When you friend this journal and comment on the post, when I ask you what they are, answer "self-appointed righteous pragmatists." This is so I know you've read my rules. This will change rather often, so you have to read the rules to get it right :p If you're on my flist, don't even bother with this, I know you're cool 8D

My standards for music aren't complicated. My only real standard is "it's not annoying." So you'll be getting a huge variety of songs by arists as diverse as Bad Religion, Ayumi Hamasaki, BT, Five Iron Frenzy, The Decemberists, John Mayer, Lightning Bolt, Sonata Arctica (and pretty much everything inbetween). I organize my posts by artists or genre, and sometimes post variety packs. I'll also take requests as to people would like to hear.
