Wantz to Macro teh Kitties & a blank

  • Dec. 5th, 2007 at 8:49 PM
I posted a couple of Macros a while back, but I used a weird font to make them. So two questions for the macro-ers
1.) What program do you use?
2.) What font?
Plz?

Most people use Adobe Photoshop, me thinks. It appears to be Arial font with a dark stroke to make it pop.

Okay...the ONLY thing I use is http://wigflip.com/roflbot/

It allows you to move text around and change size to whatever you wish.

Best thing out there.

Thank you for that one - I'd been contemplating buying Photoshop; now I won't have to.

Roflbot's my choice, too. I don't think there is an easier tool for macroing.

I've tried them all...nothing can compare.

Me, I use ULead PhotoImpact. Took awhile to deprogram myself from Photoshop. However, when I got Photoshop back, I had to learn how to use the dang thing all over again!!!

I use the GIMP. Once you learn how to make outlined text, it becomes second nature. I personally hate the watermarks from Roflbot and I Can Has Cheezeburger and find them really annoying. They are the first thing I see on a macro and they end up distracting me from the macro itself. Yes, I'm weird like that.

Hi, I made roflbot. Sorry you don't like the watermark, but I couldn't think of any other way to help people find the site. Some people are nice enough to link back to roflbot and give it a little credit, but most people don't. I get a big percentage of visitors from people searching for "roflbot", which I think might be because of the watermark.

There is a secret way to remove the watermark: it won't be added to the image if it would overlap with any of the added text.

And hey, the watermark isn't as obnoxious as the one The Cheezburger Factory adds. :-)

You can't please everybody. I'm just one of those messed up people who wants their cat macros to look nice as well as be witty and/or insulting. :3 The only times I tolerate watermarks is if it's on somebody's art, and that's because of rampant art thieves on the net. Good job on making it as less distracting as possible, btw, it's just my quirk that makes me not like it, so the problem is on my end, not yours. I understand why you have it there and I'm not mad about it or anything, it's just a personal preference. And honestly, yes, your watermark is far, far less obnoxious as The Cheezburger Factory. It even ruined that awesome Oregon Trail macro by covering up the "lose five days" part of it. DX

Ok, just for you I made a watermark-free version of roflbot:

http://wigflip.com/roflbot/no-watermark

It uses a cookie to remember not to watermark, so you might have to periodically re-visit the above URL.

Shh! Don't tell anyone! (unless you feel like it)

I use Photoshop (at home) and Photoshop Elements (all the necessary tools, 1/8 the price) at work. What? Did I say I make macros at work?!? Oops, what I meant was only on my lunch break at work. :-)
