casue_ldws - a drabble writting challenge community based between Prince Caspien and Susan Pevensie. The LDWS stands for the Last Drabble Writer Standing.
The outline of this community: we will open with a sign up post to gather around 15 participants and anyone interested is welcome to participate. Each week, a prompt will be posted on Monday, and participants are expected to write a 100-500 word drabble and submit it to the post by midnight on Wednesday (GMT).
These comments will be screened, and on Thursday, the moderator will post all the drabbles anonomously in new post. Everyone will get to read the drabbles submitted for the challenge and have a chance to vote for their most favourite and least favourite drabble. On Sunday, the votes will be counted, and the participant's drabble with the highest votes will get receive a banner for the challenge. The participant with the least number of votes will be eliminated, but they too, will get a banner for their participation.
And the cycle continues with the next round, and ultimately we will have one drabble writer winning in the end. (Also, at the beginning, we will eliminate 2 drabbles until we reach seven participants, from then on one participant will be eliminated each week.)
RULES.
casue_ldws has open membership, to encourage the widest reading audience possible, and everyone is welcome.
Due to this, please keep rating under NY-17.
Challenges will be posted on a Monday.
Drabbles expected in by Wednesday (GMT).
Drabbles posted and voting comences on Thursday.
Results announced on Saturday evening.
All drabbles are to be between 100 and 500 words (unless the challenge requirement says else) and please stick to the prompt.
Anonimity is important to a fair competition. Beta's are not allowed (unless we have a volunteers to be fair betas).
Please do not post your drabbles (or alternate) versions elsewhere until the challenge is over. They are to remain anonymous until the end of each voting where the results are revealed.
Please do not write drabble responses that are continuations of previous submissions.
Contestants will have one skip during the round, which they are free to use until there are 8 participants left (semi-finals).
Contestants may NOT use their skip for the first challenge of the Round.
Contestants may NOT vote for themselves.
And please include "You are a mouse" with your sign up posts so we know you've read the rules. ;)
Mod Policies
The "Real Life" Clause:
Occasionally allowances will be made (extra skips given) in cases of disaster (hurricane, flood, fire, etc.), illness (bad flu - sudden onset) or computer failure (hard drive dies). Please let the moderators know as soon as possible that you intend to continue competing. To be fair to the other participants, the RL clause cannot be invoked after 6 participants remain.
Tie-Breakers:
In the event of a tie for Most Favourite, the participant with the most "Most Favourite" votes will be the winner.
In the event of a tie for Least Favourite, the participant with the most "Least Favourite" votes will be eliminated.
In either case, if the tied participants have the same "high" numbers, there will be a 24 hour tie-breaker vote.
Mod's Choice:
The moderators will choose a Mod's Choice drabble for each challenge which will be announced with the winners each Sunday. The Mod's Choice award is determined by moderator preference and the participant's ability to fulfil the given prompt.
