The day we have all been waiting for is here! I just posted my 1,000th comic strip over at Manley Days!

And to celebrate this occasion I'm posting every strip that happened on this date. Let's see what was going on:

Here we were both concerned about some hard tissue under River's boob.

We were moving out of our Manistee apartment and a month away from moving to Georgia.

This one was just after the death of Alexis' Grandfather. She took it very hard, and it is still hard for her.

I would love it if instead of the many many congratulations I know you all want to give me on this important day, you would tell me one of your favorite Manley Days moments.

Music touches our lives every day. It is an influential and defining part of all generations and cultures and, because of this, we would like to put together an anthology full of (2-6 page) autobiographical stories about the influence that music has had on your lives as an individuals, as artists, and/or on your creative process.

In Spring 2007, we published Side A: The Music Lover's Graphic Novel that included such great artists as: Liz Greenfield (Stuff Sucks), Ben Snakepit (Snakepit), Lars Brown (North World), and Corey Marie Parkhill (Scene Language). It's already being sold in shops nationally and was featured in The Comics Journal, Razorcake, and Alternative Press Magazine. While the reviews were great, we would like to try our hand at making the next installment even better.

You can team up with one other person (a writer with an artist, or vice versa). All entries that are chosen for publication will remain copyright their creators, and said creators will receive a free copy of the final publication to call their own.

We're shooting for a 200 page book that will be on shelves Spring 2009; we will be taking submissions until November 30th, 2008. You can read more about the project and the submission guidelines on the website linked below.

Poseur Ink was formed in 2003 as a small press comic book publisher and alternative apparel shop by writer/illustrator Rachel Dukes. While primarily selling their products on the web, Poseur Ink also attends several comic book conventions annually, and select merchandise is carried in alternative stores across the country. Side A: The Music Lover's Graphic Novel was their first large anthology.

Contact: Rachel Dukes
rachel[at]poseurink[dot]com

(Apologies for any and all x-posting.)

I know I have a tendancy to ask for peoples' help pro bono in here and while I rarely get takers, it doesn't stop me from trying! Still, if you're the kind of person that wants money up front, you can move along. There should eventually be money, but it's not guaranteed.

Anyway, I'm in the process of developing a 2D point-and-click game and we need artwork from people. Basically that involves characters and animations, level backgrounds, items and objects, things of that nature. None of it is too complicated, I assure you.

As for the money thing, that's going to be up to the executive producer as to how he wants to handle it. We spoke today and when money starts coming in from the game or from advertisement and the like, he plans on setting a percentage aside to go back to those helping. What that percentage everyone gets, to the best of my knowledge, has yet to be decided since, well, there are a whopping 2 people on the team so far.

Stilll, if anyone happens to be interested shoot me a line back here or at the ol' Hotmail under winged_buffalo.

A brand new sketch blog for cartoonists Chuck Whelon (Pewfell), James V. West (Pan-Gea), A.P. Furtado(Elf'n'Troll) and Nate Piekos (Atland).

In the ancient lands of Ur there roamed a class of warrior wizards, whose sole mission was to enlighten the world through their arcane scribblings and mystical arts. Pens in hand, swords at the ready, these Wizards of Ur were a remarkable force with unrivaled powers. Their like, it was said, would not walk the earth again until the time of humanity's direst need!

Yes, myself and 3 of the world's leading maestro's of cartoon fantasy comics have decided to combine forces to create the überBlog to destroy all others. The names of my fellow bloggers should be familiar to many of you, but if you're a fan of Pewfell and haven't seen their work then prepare to have your eyes pop out on stalks!

As The Wizards of Ur we aim to provide you with oodles of that mouth-watering, cartoony, sci-fi/fantasy comix goodness that you love. On our feed you'll get to see our latest and greatest art, sketches and comics pages. We'll also all be posting all that other crazy stuff that we used to post on our individual blogs, i.e.: links to stuff we think is cool, long lost drawings from our archives, personal reflections, rants and just about anything else that comes to mind.

visit us now at: http://www.WizardsOfUr.com

Many of the images are related to various comic projects of mine, some are simply random.
A call to arms! Man, phrases like that just aren't used enough anymore. Onward, posthaste!

Anyway, I'm looking for artists in a new business endeavor. I'm taking my comic, The Adventures of Kyle and Josh and expanding it into an entire site with 7 other comics. I have artists for 2 of the 8, but am severely lacking in the rest of the area. So what I need are artists for the remaining 6 comics (someone who will ink their own pencils, whether with pens or digitally) and colorists for the artists that don't do their own. Oh, and I'll be paying people as well as I'm negotiating with investors.

Info on 5 of the 6 remaining projects can be found here for interested parties and you can drop me a line at winged_buffalo at Hotmail with questions, example work, how much you want me to pay you, etcetera, and I'll get back to you.
