Hope it's OK to plug this here... I just got my copy (preorder) of Alice Redux: New Stories of Alice, Lewis, and Wonderland, and it's lovely... the cover art is a painting called "Malice in Wonderland." (As you might guess from the cover, some content is somewhat adult-themed. I.e., not a kids' book.)

Antique book question

Hi, I discovered a copy of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland a few years back. Realised it was a vintage, and love vintage books, and this one in particular. Only problem with it is that it has no publication date that I can find! I don't have it with me right now, think it may list a publisher, but can't recall. Anyone know of any vintage/antique era printings of Alice's... without a publishers date in them? Good quality and the books I discovered it with are all from the 1910's-1920's era, so maybe some clue on it's age?? Really hope someone can help!
thanks!
Disin.

Basic idea is to make every guest an "Alice" character, and make them do something according.

There will be about 50 people, with me being the Cat, and my wife being Alice.

If anyone could offer any crazy ideas, CC them to cheeseshirecat @ yahoo.com, please :)

After reading the original manuscript for Alice, titled Alice's Adventures Underground, I realized that the Cheshire Cat character had not been written in yet. This only happened later when the book was published with Tenniel's drawings. Does anyone know what Carroll's reasoning for adding this character was, and whether any original illustrations of it by Carroll himself existed prior to Tenniel's concept? Perhaps this info can be found in Carroll's journals, but I have yet to find it.
