Re: Last Tuesday night in Narberth

    Hey Cap!

What a fantastic night it was! Thanks for introducing us to the band and we had a fantastic night back at The Carreg afterwards! It was a shame you couldn't make it down! Talking to Stu and Pinch afterwards, they reckon you'd love our vegetarian menu, so if you are ever back over our way, please come over and we will make up for the night you missed out on.

Coz Stu, Pinch, Monty, Dave, Nik Turner and all the rest didn't quite drink us dry! But they tried!

Have a great rest of tour and if you can, check out the blog entry on our website www.thecarregrestaurant.co.uk

    Stay golden!

    Fabu tour
Sat night I was fortunate enough to see the Damned again. Its been 3years since they last came out here but it was worth the wait. It was a great show!!!! They played a very eclectic mix of songs. I havent heard "Curtin call" played in a long long time. I was luck enough to go to both House of blues shows. The first night Capt was really mellow. He didnt say much of anything. The second night was better he was joking and much fun. I wish they would come out more often but glad they were here!

    Heh Cappy

I must post this pic of me and you from last years Burgess Hill Dead men Walking gig. what a great night and i'll be in croydon to see you and the lads this Sunday.
I must also appologise when we met backstage for going on about "Sir Donalds Son" and how it was such a fine piece of work (but it was). I still love listening to those first 2 albums especially power of love.I must also appologise for pissing in those mop and buckets downstairs in the Burgess Hill Martlets (very Rock'n roll).

Keep up the good work, can't wait for the dead men walking album.
Come on Peter Taylor sort your self out and lets have 3 points on Saturday against plymouth.

    THE BLAH! PARTY

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

After all those exasperated rants from the stage during concerts over the years I have finally done the decent thing and started a political party with the aim of shaking up British politics.

My colleagues and I have named it the Blah! Party because this is what goes through your mind when you hear our great leaders spewing out the usual old garbage.... '45 minutes', 'WMD', 'faith schools', 'nhs reforms', education education education'.... it's enough to make to put a brick through the TV - so have put my money where my mouth is and decided to take on the vile frauds on their own turf.

The Blah! party is ridiculously easy to join via blahparty.org and once you've done that you can start firing off policy ideas as we are aiming to be the most representative and democratic party of ALL...... YOU will write our manifesto! Bearing in mind of course that as I am involved it will not tolerate racism, sexism or any other unpleasantness. We aim to be a NICE party, and although we are not adverse to having some fun along the way we ARE deadly serious about holding the current ghastly crop of political clones to account on your behalf for the nonsensical decisions they all too often make.

The more members we get - the harder it will be for them to ignore us.... and the possibilities really start opening up so if YOU TOO have had enough then get over to the Blah! website and let's shake some action!

In 1982, I heard a song that had the words "When it is nearing Christmas - The present I always wish for - Is a Jimi Hendrix Strat!" Did Captain Sensible/Croydon write this song, and where can I get my hands on it? Thanks!

    Syd Barrett RIP

    .
    RIP

When I was walking to Stanley Technical School one morning in 1976 with my transistor radio glued to my ear listening to the marvellous Tony Blackburn's breakfast show a song came on that affected me greatly - it was Pink Floyds sublime slice of psychedelic pop - 'See Emily Play'.

It awoke something in me... I was feeling the power that music can have for the first time and I was never the same again. Floyds original singer and guitarist Syd Barrett wrote this wonderful song.... and I love it dearly still to this day.

The instrumental break in the middle was totally wild for the time... the way Rick's organ and Syd's guitar duel and intermingle is one of the great moments in psychedelic pop... I don't think I've ever heard better so we must all be thankful for Syd's brief period as a highly original songwriter and 60's popstar.

Let's not dwell on the downer elements of Syd's life... just bung on 'Piper at the Gates of Dawn' and let's celebrate the mans genius.... fantastic stuff!

What was the name of the CD reviewed - somewhat harshy - by Q some years ago that featured (According to Q) a lot of prog rock style guitar solos? Sounds great. Is it still available?
