...paved paradise, put up a parking lot...

This is the view from the front of Macmillan, taken today, March 17th. This space has been paved over to create a level area where the contractors on the science building will park their trailers.

What are they going to do in August, when '10 comes in, and '08 is teaching them about evenline and the odds "break in"? Are you supposed to join hands around... asphalt? Cars? Run to the middle, flip a volvo and chant oh-eight, oh-eight?

...That is so incredibly depressing. If I hadn't already decided against going to Reunion this year, that sealed it. Ouch.

That is something I hoped I'd never see. I wanted that new science building so badly, from my freshman year on....but I never wanted this. I understand the need for level ground and all...but...it's just so wrong. My apologies to all of the current students. Just when you think they've shafted you for the final time they go and do it again...

it shouldn't, but that makes me want to cry. wells is - literally now - not the place we knew it. i'm glad there are other women here that feel the same way i do.

...that what you, the student, thinks is of little concern to their "view of the future". You will only be a pimple on the past. And alum's are only heard if they are carrying a hefty checkbook. What is the plan for post-construction ? It's not public but it should be !! You'd think that since your money is paying for this in some way or another, you could get answers. Let's get a story done in the newspapers. Or isn't this noteworthy since Pleasent's footprints aren't in the pavement? Some of the most beautiful places on campus can't be seen from the main road...and in this case, the ugliest either.

Wow, this totally sucks. Why can't all the construction workers and all their equipment be parked in main circle and the woods lot, taking up spaces for commuting students and faculty members? Then we wouldn't have to see temparary pavement in front of Macmillan, AND we wouldn't have to go to classes. Who plans these things anyway???

haha. i completely agree.

change is inevitable, and i think people need to move on. what about the people who attended the school decades ago? i'm sure they're unhappy with various changes to the campus, also.

not that i support the co-ed decision, but what's done is done. everything happens for a reason.
