SUMMARY: BUCKY IN SPAAAACE.
Somewhere smashed in with all the hectic happenings of being a superhero in the City (crumbling bridges, giant cockroaches, the Joker scare) and of just trying to maintain a normal identity (the car shop job, new part-time classes, moving two more housemates in), there was one event that stuck out in particular. Particularly, because for one, it didn't involve Jaime getting beat up, and for another, it involved space. A while ago, when he'd found a mass of butchered bodies, Bucky was the first one to respond, and one of the ones who kept him on the line talking, keeping him from panicking. Somewhere in the conversation, space had popped up.
'If you really want, I could take you up. Space, I mean. The suit can make a space-safe field, so...'
'Really? You'd do that for me?'
'Well. It's like...Not a huge thing--for me. But. I wouldn't mind so.'
Jaime didn't mind. Actually, he felt he kind of owed the guy for helping him out. And space flight really wasn't a hassle on his end--the Scarab could sustain him perfectly find in the vacuum for as long as he needed, and had done so several times. And the more time passed from the time of the agreement, the more compelled he became to act on it. Don't make promises you can't keep, and all.
Eventually, the topic resurfaced and times were exchanged. A little later, Jaime came up with the place--one of the smaller department stores had painfully easy roof access. It was less conspicuous than lifting off from the ground, but not so remotely out of the way as the city limits. He'd sent the directions out to Bucky, as well as a general time. Somehow, he'd ended up with a lot of free time that evening. It just worked out that way.
He paced around, halfway between full armor, while keeping his jacket in tact. Abby'd gone to the trouble of buying it, so he was pretty intent on not wrecking it suiting up. That way, he wouldn't have the cold to grumble about while he waited, and the Scarab wouldn't have to bicker back at him about it. Win-win.
