I am doing a vanilla photo shoot in NYC in 2 weeks & I need to find a venue for one of the shots...

Any info would be a great help...

Apr. 26th, 2006 @ 12:34 pm Wide Angle Lenses?
I've been having a hard time finding a good, sharp, wide-angle zoom lens under $500. I currently have the Canon EF 50mm f1.4 USM Lens and the Canon EF 28-200mm f/3.5-5.6 USM Zoom Lens. I love the lightness, speed, and sharpness of the 50 mm- but with the large crop ratio of the 10D I am constantly struggling to get back far enough to frame the pictures I want correctly. It's too narrow. The zoom lens is great because of the range, but the pictures never seem sharp enough and it's really heavy, so I never use it. Maybe I accidentally banged it around too much?

Anyway, I am looking for something that has a shorter, but wider, zoom range than the one I already have and that will offer me a sharpness more compareable to the 50mm.

Also, does anyone have any recommendations for an affordable flash to use with fashion photography?

Any tips would be very much appreciated!

please advise:

i downloaded images from my canon 10d today, for the first time. at the moment, i do not have the instruction manual for the software, and couldn't find any info in the 10d instruction manual, and was wondering if i need to do anything special before i try to pull the cable out of the camera that connects to the computer? i know with ipods for example, after you're done downloading songs onto the ipod, you need to choose "eject" or something to that effect, before you disconnect the cable from the ipod. wanted to make sure i wouldn't do damage to my camera. thx! :)

So, I just got my 10D, a recent upgrade from my EOS 650. I have a speedlite 300EZ, but the flash does not fire with the 10D. I've read that the 300EZ doesn't work with Canon DSLRs, is that the case with all speedlite EZs? or just the 300?

and

Does this mean the only flash i can use with the 10D are Speedlite EX series?

Thanks.

So.. I used my 4G microdrive two weeks ago in my canon10D. Normally I use it for the PDA but since it was my grandmothers memorial/funeral I wanted space. We spread her ashes in the river and I photographed the whole thing.

Majority of the incident, lives on corrupted files on the microdrive. Adobe can not read the raw image data. Anyone have any suggestions? You can see why I its imperative to get these files repaired.

Mar. 15th, 2005 @ 08:54 am QUESTION
Hi people. doesn't seem like anyone reads this too often but I have a question. If you feel like answering, great. If not, I will just flounder around trying to figure out out myself. :)
Okay so obviously I have the 10D. I also have that ZoomBrowser software and I am trying to get my pictures from my camera onto my computer.
See, I didn't really WANT to go digital, but my friend convinced me and so far I love the camera. She has always taken my pictures and put them on her computer. However, with the two of us getting our pix on ONE computer....well, let's just say it's time I did my own. So, even though I'm completely computer-dumb, I want to try this. I need to try this.
So the computer says it can't recognize the camera. I have it plugged into the USB port. The camera is on. There's a full battery and an almost full CF card. The software IS installed. I can't think of what I'm doing wrong.
PLEASE help me out here. I give you full permission to make jokes and laugh at me, etc., as long as I get some advice. Slow, well-explained for-dumb-people advice. Great. Thanks everyone.
Jennifer
P.S. Or, I suppose you could just make an offer for this camera and you get it! If I can't access my pictures then what's the point, right? Haha, just kidding, I am not ready to give up this soon. :)
