A Brief History About Me; I am a 30 year old Cancer Survivor (Hodgkin's Disease).
About Hodgkin's Disease: Hodgkin's Disease affects the lymphatic tissue and other tissues that are important in fighting infection. Early symptoms include fever, lymph node enlargement, and weight loss; in later stages the nodes become rubbery and the spleen and liver become enlarged. The cause is unknown, but viral and other infectious agents, as well as immunologic abnormalities, have been suggested. The disease is named after Thomas Hodgkin, who described it in 1832. In the United States, about 30 individuals out of every million have this ailment; it is more common in males between the ages of 20 and 40. It is invariably fatal if untreated, but diagnostic and therapeutic measures have produced complete remissions in the great majority of early cases.
