1:22 pm - Man Pampering

maldini_3

Heya peeps.

So as it turns out me and a mate have both hit some rough patches with our lives and we both agree we need some man pampering :P The difficulty is actually defining man pampering activities. lady friends of mine alway organise group manicures, pedicures and massages then go shopping when they need to step out of the rat race. So to everyone out there, can you throw some ideas our way?

Hey everyone -

I have a Pfaff hobby 301-420 sewing machine that I'm looking to give away. It was given to me by a helpful mother-in-law, but I have since upgraded, so I don't really need it anymore.

It should be in decent working order [it's been a couple of years since I used it.] - it's just got some years on it. It does come with it's instruction book.

Pickup in Red Hill, weekdays before noon [weekends anytime] would be awesome.

11:42 am - Canada Day, July 1st

stevospeedo
Hello hello Canberrans,

I'm a Canadian doing schooling here at the moment and Canada's birthday is coming up today. I'm wondering if anyone would be aware of places that sell Canadian beer (Preferably in north side but beggars ≠ choosers). This includes brands such as Labat, Molsen, Alexander Keith's, Sleemans, Kokanee...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Health Care Consumers' Association is the peak consumer voice on health care in the ACT. Currently our organisation is supporting a consumer member of the ACT Government’s GP Task Force. We want to know about your experiences and expectations of general practice in the ACT. Your response to this survey will help us get a better understanding of what consumers want and expect and the results will be shared with the GP Task Force.

The GP Task Force was set up in April 2009 by the ACT Minister for Health, Katy Gallagher after several suburban general practices suddenly closed their doors. The ACT is suffering form a persistent shortage of general practitioners; we would need to recruit 60 full time GPs to satisfy demand. It is clear that we are not going to find 60 GPs overnight. The GP Task Force is investigating options and innovations for improving access to primary health care (ie, non hospital health care) in the ACT. The Task Force will report back to the ACT Legislative Assembly in September.

It will take about 10 minutes to complete the survey. Your responses are anonymous.

4:20 pm - Australian national conference: Queer Collaborations 2009

baglieg
What: Queer Collaborations is a national queer conference. It's full
of educational and activist-ey fun, with something for everyone.

Who? All trans, intersex, lesbian, bisexual, gay, etc people are
welcome. Usually about 90% of the delegates are university students.

Where? Canberra

When? July 13-18

How much does it cost? $45 + accommodation + food + travel

Is it really that great? Yes! You will learn cool stuff in the
workshops, and meet lots of interesting young people from around the
country. It's super fun.

For more info, contact qc09@anu.edu.au

If you are coming, please register by July 1st. If you're travelling
far you should book your travel tickets really soon, because those
bastards at the airlines charge way too much if you leave it to the
last minute.

Love,
Robyn

PS if you can pass this message on to any groups I haven't sent it to,
I would love you for ever and ever.

12:23 pm - Blackbird - Street Theatre - June 19th - July 4th

kivunsotilas
Blacbird by David Harrower

Fifteen years ago, Una and Ray embarked on a relationship that changed their lives. Now Una has tracked down Ray in the debris littered lunchroom of the factory where he works. Is she seeking vengeance? Or something else all together?

"Blackbird is an electrifying psychological thriller that was the hit of the Edinburgh Festival before taking the West End and Broadway by storm."

11:26 pm - need a cat-sitter?

abrade
i was expecting to graduate from ANU in July, but i just found out i have to stay on an extra semester to do two more units.

i don't have accommodation from July to end November and am starting to look around now.

if you have a cat/cats, and need someone to take care of them while you are away, i would be more than happy to fill in. i love cats and grew up with them- my current cat in Singapore is very old and sick and school is keeping me from being with him :( it would be great if you lived around the ANU, but further out is alright.

i'm female, mature, Liberal Arts student and consider myself very responsible.

if anyone is looking for a housemate just for this period, please let me know too.

thanks!
